WHAT WILL MY RESULTS BE LIKE IF I WERE TO GO THROUGH VEGETATIVE STAGE WITH A 400 WATT HPS SYSTEM ALONG WITH THREE 42 WATT WARM WHITE 6500K(BLUE) COMPACT FLOURESCENTS ( ONE CFL FOR EACH PLANT) FOR THREE PLANTS IN A 4X4 5 FOOT TALL GROWBOX?

IF IT POSSIBLE TO USE THE HPS AND CFL'S DURING VEGETATIVE STAGE WITH GOOD RESULTS THEN SHOULD I JUST KEEP THE CFL'S IN THERE FOR A LITTLE EXTRA LIGHTING DURING FLOWERING STAGE OR TAKE THEM OUT?

HPS is generally more dominant in the orange/red spectrum which is predominately used in the flowering period, although they will work just fine in the vegetative stage. Adding the CFLs will definitely be a plus. I suggest using everything you mentioned. In that amount of space you should be fine with good reflective material. Good luck!!

I Mean It's Not Going To Be Some Pathetic Little Plant Is It?

Or Would I Be Better Off Using Like 8 42 Watt Cfl's During Vegetative Stage?

Hell no. I think your plants will kick major ass with that lighting. An HPS system is good all around. They just really show their TRUE colors in flowering, but are always accepted in vegging. Good luck man!

Yeah, the 400w HPS alone is sufficient, but the CFL's will give a boost during veg and keep them from stretching. You could always go with a MH conversion bulb for veg.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO PLUG ALL THREE CFL'S INTO POWER CORD( one with about 10 plug-ins and red light for on/off switch) AND THEN PLUG THE POWER CORD INTO A TIMER?

Alright Wasn't Sure Didn't Want To Start A Fire, Well That Will Be A Lot Better Then Getting More Timers Or Turning Off Manually!!
