I've never grown before, so I have no idea what I'm doing. I planted seeds that I had sprouted to around 5" in like mid-May, and just kinda let them do thier thing. They're now about 5 feet and I think some are starting to bud. How long do I wait after I get rid of the males to start picking buds (I'm in central NC if that makes a diff.)? I also need help with pretty much everyhting else after that, I have no idea how to dry or for how long or if I can dry the leaves also. Help me!

You have no idea what you're doing, but you have 5 foot plants. I would say that you're doing something right.

The main thing is that you are learning by doing! And every crop you grow will be better.

They should be just starting to show flowers, so you'll want to watch for the males, they usually show first. The males will be your biggest, strongest, best-looking, best-chance-for-a-big-yield plants, and you'll hate to cut them. But you'll want to get them out of the area fast. A good way is to just cover the whole plant with a trash bag, then cut the base at ground level, and remove.

Once the males are gone, and the females are starting to show flowers, they will probably be ripe in 6-10 weeks.

pick the males as soon as they show the little balls, dont pick them until the hairs on the buds are turning brown, your almost there so dont pick to soon

ok heres my thing i just turned 16 (dont judge weed is the shit) ben smokeing for 3 years and i am gonna try to grow my own now the problem is i live in country (georgia) and i only have woods and some other places around the house i just need help cause i cant keep buying cause the person i buy from is a over pricer cause hes the only 1 that sells so can yall help me out please

ok guys so check this out...me and my boys threw some seds in a really fertile area outside in the end of spring begining of summer and now we just realized we have about a 3ft plant...not really sure how to tell if its male or female but it is already starting to show flowers coming out of the top and latel,y has been growing at a really fast speed...just wondering when the right time to pick the buds would be(obviously when it gets bigger and more)but were new to this so were not to sure...if any1 has any help email or im me at xpac99460@aol.com and make the email topic homegrown
