So my stepson, who's 16, was over for a few days (he lives with his dad) over spring break and yes, our worse fears came true: he found our grow room. It was buried deep in our closet. Apparently, he went looking for pot and found the grow. We had no idea he even smoked the shit. To make matters worse, he brought 2 of the neighbor punkass teens to show them too. This happened last night and we were up all night discussing things.

So now I want to destroy everything but the wife wants to continue. We were about a week from flowering too and we have 5 generally healthy, very smelly plants. It would tear me up inside to destroy them after 6 weeks of babying and caring for them but nothing is worth my freedom and you know how teens are. I'm sure they are blabbing to their friends in school right now about their discovery. I was very much enjoying the whole growing experience and just completed my new growbox this Saturday and now this.

What would you guys do? See the grow through, with about 4-6 weeks left or tear them all out and dump them?

destroy it all immediately, once compromised there is no purpose to continue the mission....that's what they taught me in the CYA anyways...

Damn thats harsh... You don't have anywhere else to move the grow to? I kinda know what your going through... My daughter keeps trying to show my mom my grow... Luckily I have been able to get the door closed and locked before my mom see's it... My grow room is my computer room, so I know my mom is wondering why every time she comes over I close the door and lock it.

The only other option would be to move the growbox outside in our yard. I have a plastic storage box that's about 6' long by 4' tall by 4' deep. My grow box would fit in there and then I could lock the whole damn thing. The problem is the heat. Over the next 2 months, average daytime temps will be 80-85 F. Buried in a box, exposed to the sun, plus the lights, the temps could get close to 100 in there. I'm screwed.

I think moving it would be dangerous and pointless. IF they come looking, they'll check out your yard too. Have you considered talking with the 3 of them to get a better feel of the situation? Just a thought.
Another twist on this situation is to temporarily take the grow room apart, hide everything, talk to the 3 kids in yr home,
tell them it was a huge mistake on yr part, show them the empty room, and than move everything back it.

Fuck fuck fuck! I can't believe that that time, energy and money down the drain! Honestly, we can't trust these kids. I don't know about talking to them to find out their intentions. I DO plan on telling them I know they know and that the plants have been destroyed. Unless we move to a new neighborhood or these kids go away to college (2 more years), this pretty much screws any opportunity to grow. They will always be suspicious of us and wondering if we are growing or have any. I am sooooooo depressed this morning.

good idea, if you do keep them make sure word gets back out that you got rid of them.

Id opt with move them if u can....my little bro did the same thing to me with his freak friends...I left the grow, didntr get arrested but the little fucks did steal my crop...(they only took the top half of the plants...my bro though I wouldnt get so mad..)boy was he wrong!

Doobs, I already told my stepson they are good as destroyed. I intend to take my OLD grow box, the one they discovered the grow in, out to the trash so they can see it being thrown out. From what I gathered, one of the teens told my stepdaughter, who also didn't know about it, to keep quiet and that we "had a good thing going" with the grow. She's the one who told us last night the kids had discovered it. So, of course, she's now saying she doesn't feel comfortable with the shit in the house, and rightly so.
