Welcome all,this thread is something I thought some here would appreciate...a daily grow tips,with pics,open to all...got a tip,post it...with pics...got input?...post that too...got attitude?...well,we all know where that can be put...keep it nice,light and respectful please...there are ladies that read these things too,as I have to keep reminding myself. ^^^^^

Okay,todays daily tips...grow closet.


Start at the floor...take an old inflatable mattress(the thicker kind)to line your closet floor....I like to cut the top and bottom apart...then I have 2.





You can see it screwed to the wall in this shot.







Ventilation is very important to the health of your plant...the dual is an intake fan,pulling air from an adjacent closet....the one for my bedroom,which I keep at 72 degrees....simply opening or closing my bedroom closet door,I can regulate my grow temp.I try to keep mine around 80 for their day...72 or 74 for their nites.nice balmy nites with the wind blowing really makes plants take off.

My tip is... Make sure you check your lights if growing with CFLs, Cause the plants can grow quick, and its a bitch when they burn themselves. (My poor babies)

Hey sec,glad you stopped by,have you got a pic for that,so everybody can see what to do,or not to do....This is a newbie section....the shots I post are from my first indoor grow...plus some of the more experienced guys may be able to help ya with recovery techniques...any body have a tip for that?

I have a tip if you change from cfl's to hps you need to keep a eye on how fast they dry out they take alot more water when put under hps then cfl's

Use hair or tobacco leftovers to ward off pests if you have an outdoor grow.

Do not over-fertilize! Always start off using fertz at 50%-25% of the recommended dose. It's better to under-fertilize than it is to over-fertilize, just as it's better to under-water than it is to over-water.

Do some research on nutrient disorders and symptoms. It helps a lot to know how the plant is being affected and which micro/macronutrient(s) it needs.

i don't know if you want to consider this a tip, i don't know of any scientific proof to validate it, but it did work for me, it really can't hurt...i read in a thread on this site about the "banana religion", i don't want to post unproven info, but i got 3/3 females, first time grower,

I call it a religion because I believe this works; I have no scientific evidence that it does. It is a religion because it is not factual, otherwise I'd call it a science.

Don't ask me for links because I don't have any, but in my time here I have read that MJ plants' sex is not determined until the plant is 3 to 4 weeks old. I have also read that ethylene gas influences plants to be female. That's all plants, not just MJ.

All ripening fruit gives off ethylene gas and bananas and apples are supposed to be high in ethylene gas as they ripen. I prefer bananas.

So - as many of you have seen - I put a banana at the base of a plant I want to be female. I put it there when the plant is 3 weeks old & keep one there for two weeks. I'll keep one there until it turns black - I don't want bugs - then I put a new one down if needed. I've had success with 4 plants (out of 4) that I have tried putting a banana under. Another member of GC is 2 for 2 and now I have a banana under my current plant.

Bananas are cheap - cheaper than feminized seeds! It may be a crazy idea, but I'm interested to hear of any other "banana trials".

I changed my bananas well before get the black, no mold at all, and used a total of 2 bananas per plant, cost me like a buck total to try this

tip...stick your finger in the dirt,down to the knuckle...if it is moist,you are good...do this every day,you will quickly be able to monitor your plants health.


My 6 ladies drink 9 gallons a week...400 watt hps...4 43 watt cfl's....don't be concerned if they aren't drinking that much though...check out my journal...trying some different things....^^^^^
