i got a 250 watt hps and im doin it my closet they all fit in there right now there on 18/6 someone told me to keep in on that for a while then change it to 12/12 when its flowering time

I'd flower them right away. Shift to 12/12. The amount of light you have is limited so you're not helping yourself out by continuuing to veg at 18/6.

This is just me but with that little light i would git rid of sum of the lower branches to promote growth to the colas, instead of wasting energy on little buds that will not be shit in the end any way. Go 12-12 now!!!!!!!!!!
