Question Have I just knackered my water supply? + other watering question

Right, I read somewhere plants like slightly acidic water so i just added 5 small drips of malt vinegar to my 200ml mini bottles...

Now i've got no ph meter, but the water around here can be chalky, and at the moment I'm giving each plant about 50 ml of water every 2-3 days

They're just over 5-inches tall at 5 weeks...am I watering them enough do you think? Also I'm hoping I've not added too much vinegar to the water...is that ok do ya reckon? Don't wanna risk burning them, I reckon it'll probably be ok but I'd like a 2nd opinion...and a 3rd...

bigger bucket = more water
smaller = less.

how big is your bucket? you should water them good, but fist watering next time, soil should be bit dry.

The pot is about 5x5 inches, I like to get the whole surface of it wet/moist so I just pour near the middle until it covers the whole surface, and it comes to about 50/75ml...doing that every other day or so isn't gonna drown them or leave them dehydrated I don't think (?) - hell, they've survived 5 weeks...

Bought a couple 20-watt daylight CFLs which i'm gonna use in my 2ftx3.5-4ft cupboard as my growing space...only got 2 plants which aren't supposed to be the biggest anyway, so when I get them on 24 hours for a week or so for extra growth I'll have to water more...then I'm vegging...

That sound ok/safe to u guys? (I really dunno a lot do I lol...seen a couple videos on youtube and think I can do it...I've not got the money or space for loads of lights)

Well, I dunno - should I just not use that stuff? I'd guess with the ratios it wouldn't change it a great deal...or am I wrong?

either go get some ph down or use some lemon juice....but vinegar wow...never heard of that

without ph meter i wouldnt add vinegar. thats crazy! some drops too much and your plant is dead. ph meter costs like $6-$10

you want to water your plats so much, as the water starts to go of the bucket holes. the soil has to be compleatly moist. then just wait when soil will be dry again..

just seems to me there are safer cheap methods to do it...but if he wants to go for it with vinegar and no meter it's his loss. thats all i am sayin

Right - ditch the vinegar to be safe and probably water a bit more, gotcha! Never given them enough to see it coming out the bottom...I just don't wanna risk drowning them - they're still small so I don't let the soil dry out completely most of the time...
