O.k. so I know I need to use 2 CFL's in my growroom, went to the store to find a couple and found cfl's fine and how many lumensthey were, but could not find out how to tell which were 2700k and 6500k. Will it be marked on the package as 2700k or 6500k or is there some other term or system for k's. How do I tell the K's a light is?

It will say on the package. There's usually a white box on the cartridge that lists the wattage, lumens, and K temp. If you already have the lights and you want to know the K temp you can buy a light meter, but it's probably not worth it.

in general the math for CFLs is 60-100lum/W, to generalise that a 27W will give more lumen's then a much stronger 42W CFL is, take the guess yourself...
(and if a 42W bulb should have less punch then a smaller 27W version i would shop for a different 42W one then to by a weak 27W instead )
