My first two grows turned out 70% popcorn size buds. The toke was very strong and wonderful. I purchased seeds on a vacation in Amsterdam and started shortly after. I am using a 1000w lite system. I am growing in 3 gallon pots. Plants are 15 inches high when they leave the 24 hr flourescent light room and are very healthy looking. The air is 75 during the 12 hour day and 65 during the nite cycle. The room is keep at 55 RH and water PH is keep at 6.4- 6.5. The dirt is a quality mix and fert schedule is monitored with a PPM digital gauge. The fert starts at about 500ppm and slowly climbs to 1200 ppm with an inital reading of 100ppm clean water. THE QUESTION: no one wants the pop corn buds so i have started to trim all side brances (at a slow pace ) to gain 1 large cola only.
Am i doing right or not. Do i leave the water leaves on the area that i trim the soe branches or shouild i not be trimming at all.. Please help as a lot of love is being giving to these plants and i am going bannannas

Some will so no...me I've always trimmed away leaves to expose the inner leaves and bud's , bigger buds near stem,...adding 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of molasses will almost double your bud size..you can also top next time to get 2 colas...there are some good tips on spiral trimming, lst, and topping in FAQ... luck

I dont mean to be an ass here, but I have never seen anything documented in any fashion that would prove that adding molasses to your watering will increase bud size, let alone double it. I've toyed around with it in the past and never have I seen any results that would conclude one way or the other.

All of the other things Twisty has mentioned are great ways to promote multiple colas and just generally good growing habits.

I have read that adding molasis or similar products also helps the positive bacteria in the dirt which in turn helps the roots so that they can uptake fert better????????

The only way for YOU to be certain is to experiment yourself. Try it with one plant and not another, but keep close watch on each of them and if you can document with pics.

Actually it was CannaSeur who showed me about the molasses..He has $100's of grow books...and studies them like no one I know...I'll get the name of the books the next time I see him (next week) and will post the reference....I saw the pics & comparisons and was sold....
