I'm not sure where you live, but september seems a little late to start growing to me.

Also as for the deep in the woods thats acceptable as long as you take precautions to your safety like make sure its not right off a hiking trail or anything or anywhere people can see you heading on a regular basis ( i'm also pretty paranoid about..well everything ).

you should also make sure to have enough sunlight when you do start becuse other trees and what not could outcompete your plants for light remember they are photosensitive and move toward the light so monitor your area before choosing it to insure that everything is cool .

Make sure you get an outdoor strain and not an indoor that could result in some pretty awful yields if any.

I'm sure someone else here has some even better advice for you but that's what I got. This place has quite a few Primo growers.

In Puerto Rico eh

So your gonna be planting just in time for hurricane season.
It gets tricky now I'm not to familiar with Puerto Rico but the deep forests you plan on growing are probably rainforests, and this to me says insane amount of rainfall, also means nutrients in soil are washed away.

Most nutrients in rainforests are contained in the biomass itself, plants develop shallow roots to be able to extract the nutrients that do become available. Also North and South coast of Puerto Rico receive different amount of rainfall during this period.

I would suggest you get a strain from your area perhaps an equatorial sativa otherwise you could have some problems trying to grow strains from a more temperate climate in a tropical setting.

I'm sure there's more that can be said but I feel myself starting to ramble... In my day people used to tie onions to their belts and...Oh there I go again

Hope this helps a bit more

Oh yeah laws are pretty harsh there so the best advice I can give you is cover your ass! (no pun intended)
