Default planted seeds in dark, light, half & half, etc.

In a newly planted seed, do you keep the pot in no light, some light, all day, or what? This is probably a stupid question (note category).

It really doesnt matter, the soil doesnt need light so i would say as long as the temp stays right without light then save on your bill for right now til the seed sporuts then once your seedling surfaces then stick her under the light. if you have cfls stick them close to the sprout if you have MH or HPS then keep light approx. 2 ft away or they will burn. you should see a sprout if the seed was germinated in about 3 days without being germ. about a week

You might as well just leave them on so when it does sprout it can get light (it wont be long).

I planted 4 or 5 germinated seeds about 2 weeks ago, but none of them have sprouted. What the fuck is going on? The temperature is constantly 76F.

i have germinated in sun before, of course not direct. But i prefer to germinate in a dark place i seem to have a better sprout rate this way.
