forums; what would happen if u put a 70 watt hps bulb into a normal light socket? would it be fine ...

    what would happen if u put a 70 watt hps bulb into a normal light socket? would it be fine or would there be a huge risk of fire or what? im just wondering what would happen

    look up the specs on the lamp it will tell you what kind of power to use.

    you should be fine most in the US are made to handle no more than 100-120 watts. try it if dosent work then it should trip the breaker and go out(if wired correctly) or you blow up. nahh

    terrible advice!!! no, it's not safe or smart. That why the hps bulbs don't fit into the normal sockets!!

    the bulb blew up and glass went everywhere and cut my neck so i had to go to the ER.
