i bought some miracle grow soil and it really makes your plants grow it made my stem grow so fast that it fell over. my plants sprouted 2 weeks after my friends and my plant is twice as big.

I tried out five different soils and one I mixed up my self on over 100 plants last year, there is two that stood out like no other. Black Gold!! and Fox farm. Black Gold is simply amazing. Stay away from things like super soil and Miracle-Gro. they are over fertilized or something. Get buckets twice as large as you want and more soil than you think you need.

dont go to a home depot or a store like that you should go to a hydro ponics store i myself use foxfarm organic potting soil it is recomended in alot of grow books that i read and it is doing a very good job

I dont think it was the soil. I think it was the lights.
sounds like your baby stretched for the light. How close is your lights and what type.

In your experience, about how quickly does the plant use up nutes in the soil? When do you usually introduce supliments?

In home depot I got the miracle grow African violet soil, its PH is perfectly balanced. I recommend it.

i remeber when i first strted growing and my first grow all i had was miracle grow soil but i thought y cant i sift out the little chemical balls and i did and had no problems and then was able to add my own nutes.

Maturity equals quality

I was in home dept the other day and found a electric ph soil tester. It has two prongs that you just stick in the soil. So then i walked into there soil section and tested all of there soils. I found that there miracle grow organic had a ph of 7.5-7, scotts was at seven and all the others were around six. I even teested a bag of cow shit and it was like a ph of 2. So my question is would you all be against using miracle grows new organic type soil. and is cow manuer not a good idea for adding to your soil.

im on miracle grow, i beleive 15-20-20. look for lots of nitrogen and bonemeal. keep away from acidic or manure fertilizers.
