Angry My plants sprouted on 2nd of january and are still very small.
Hi I am a new grower and have spouted some feminized Northern lights seeds back in the first week of January. They started off under some very low wattage flourescents in rock wool and were then I placed the rock wool after three weeks into pots surrounded by coco fibres.
Since then they have been givin coco a and b every day in there water ( i have increased the dossages from 1ml per ltr of water up 0.5 every week they are now on 2.5ml of a and b per litre). Its now Mid March and after looking on this site I see peoples plants less than half the age of mine twice and sometimes three times as big.
To desrdibe them they each are about 20 cm with approx 6 leaves each and no secondary branches. They have been under a cfl in my cupboard for about a month but still no massive jump in vegatitive growth. Can anyone help?

Default Same experience
I had a very slow start with Northern Lights too, mine are not feminized but I ended up with 4 females.

During the vegative growth, they grew very slowly and I waited a long time for them to be tall enough to start flowering. I just used 8 T12 shop lights for 24/7, but then I changed it to 18/6 and that seemed to make a difference because they grew better that way. I'm growing in soil. I've always read the NL is an easy strain to grow indoors but it hasn't that easy so far.

But now I am in the 3rd week of flowering and they are growing very nicely. I'm using 1 400wt hps.

Default Don't sweat it...
Puna, don't sweat it. I started my grow a little over 4 weeks ago and the biggest of mine is now about 8". I have seen that size in 2 weeks from other growers on here. It's discouraging, I know. It seems like my plants began to take off when I started giving them Superthrive once a week. You may need to add more lights, though, I don't think you have enough.

Do you know how many Lumens that emits. I believe you need a minimum of 7,000 per sq foot for an effective grow. By comparison, I have 5 plants with 6 CFLs that range from 2600 lumens to 1200 lumens. I have 4 of the lights with reflectors and 2 without. I also expect FedEx to deliver 4 more lights with reflectors - 2 for vegging and 2 for flowering. I'm also thinking of investing in an HPS light, which will run a minimum of $125 US. A decent HPS will emit about 12,000 lumens. You can't have too much light.

Technology has advanced so much in the last 15 years that we are constantly refining the process and updating what we know works best for growing. Current theory holds that the minimum amount of lighting needed to sustain growth is around 2,000 lumens per square foot. Mid range is around 5,000 lumens per square foot. Optimal is 7,000 to 7,500 or higher lumens per square foot.

GO TO HOME DEPOT AND GET SOME HALIDE LIGHTS if you cannot afford a 400-1000 watt, use sodium if you can.. light is your problem also GO TO HILO to Hawaiian Paradise Park turn left onto Paradise road go dn past 17ths street and start looking on the right for a large lot with a bunch of fighting chickens on it then the house next to this is Stacys House. Behind his house are 100s of plants and he also makes bubble has and sells both..BEWARE THOUGH if you are a white person do not "front " him money he will rip you off and he also pimps out his wife Sandra if you are into that... just use caution
race-ism is high there they are very jealous of whites and will rob you and even assault you if your a wimp.. we know we lived in hawaii for over a year, if you want to go to a place that has Great beaches and Water the Carribean is closer, cheaper and the people there welcome you, not like in Hawaii, the locals are Vultures, ignorant, stupid, poor and Very Lazy.. Hawaii is over Rated
and a waste of money.. Go to Abaco Bahamas or the usvi... Safer Good Smoke is well available!! Blessings to all!

Hawaii has cops hiding in the buses with radios EVERYWHERE USE CAUTION. You will also be set up by locals and robbed and or arrested. The cops smoke and most have med marij licenses and are crooked.. if you burn and are looking for a "weed vacation" HAWAII IS NOT THE PLACE TO GO I AM POSTING THIS INFO ALL OVER THE NET.. HAWAIIAN LOCALS WILL ROB YOU.. I WAS NOT ROBBED BUT I SAW IT EVERYWHERE.. WE MADE THE BEST OF IT AND HAD FUN AS WE ARE VERY WEALTHY,,, IT WAS SCARY I CARRIED A GLOCK 45 WITH ME THE WHOLE TIME I LIVED THERE....
