What Kind of light is it? Most people switch from mh light for veg to hps bulb for flowering, but it is the light cycle that makes a plant flower not the type of bulb. So as long as you switch to 12/12 it will start flowering.

Well..before folks lay into you..let me point out the growfaq lighting section.GROWFAQ Now, Like you, I once thought any lighting would do. It won't at the bare minimum you must use compact flourescent bulbs. If you want any yield at all, your plant needs the proper lighting first.

dont know what light u have but u say its a veg light. veg light have a blue spectrum (normally 6400k). the blue light that is absorbed by the plant helps it veg. once u turn to flowering stage u should really change the color spectrum of ur lights to red, 2700k.

however i am still a noob myself. i would guess that the plant would still grow, just not as fast and turn out as strong or produce buds as big.

my 2 cents

Yes I have to disagree with the blues for veg and reds to flowering.
That is so generalized.
