Help guys, did I repot wrong?

Ok, I'm actually quite scared. I repotted my ONLY surviving plant today...it was growing pretty well but kinda slow...so I figured it needed to be repotted. So, when I did that I put my fingers around the plant stem and tapped the bottom of the pot. When the dirt came out in a clump, sure enough I saw the roots at the bottom trying to grow. So when I tried to sit it in the other pot, all the dirt and roots went everywhere!! I didn't move them, I just repositioned the plant to sit back up and put soil around it snugly(but not too tight) do you think its going to be ok?? I hope I didn't put it in to much shock or anything!!

Ok, so I dont do something like this again, what is the PROPER way to repot? I've only saw demonstrations online on youtube or whatnot for repotting when they are small plants, but as they grow bigger, I have no idea how to repot.

yeah theyll do alright there juss going to be stunted for about a week and i dont know how big ur plants are but ive always but my hand on the soild with the plant stem inbetween my biddle and index finger flipped it upside down and hit the bottom of the pot so it would come loose but befor thati would also hit the side of the pot to

Yeah , that's the way to do it alright. Don't stress too much, you should be cool.

Ahhh good, yeah thats how I did it, I was just worried cause everything kinda went everywhere when I went to put it in the other pot. Thanks guys! ::sighs a breath of relief::

That happens to me all the time while repotting, I just make sure the roots are underground and it seems fine.

yeh my plants showed no growth for about a week give or take a couple days, repotted using the same method

oh yeh and take your City off your profile man, thats dangerous

next time so it wont happen again let them be SEMI-DRY aso all the dirt doesnt crumble up and fall everywhere
