ah thanks alot, i only found out yesterday about other wattage. im thinkin of changing setup, i was going for

2x125watt 6400k (blue) for veg
2x125watt 2700k (red) for flower

now im thinking of doing something like:

4x200watt blue spectrum (6400k)
4x200watt red spectrum (2700k)


thing is... i only wanted about 4 plants at the most - but thinking about it now, if i get more females from the seeds i get, i might as well grow them all.

just in general though, someone told me that 2x125watt set up would be ok for 3 plants or so.

so whats the point of me buying 4x200watts which are gonna be more expensive and take up more room.

can any1 help me with that?

More light is always better although you could probably get 3 instead of 4.

hmm i dunno yet. atm im gonna be ok with 2 of them.

another quick question, when i set the lights up ill have 2 each, so 4 in total. do i leave all of them on at the same time or just the 2x200watt 4000k veg lights, and then when flowering, turn the veg lights off an use the 2 flowering ones.

When you are vegging use both blue spec bulbs & one red spec for a better color spectrum or you can do it that way if you want. In my grow I have many aspects of the spectrum - figured this would be good for the plant. I have 2 3000K bulbs, a 2700K bulb, a 3500K bulb, a 4200K bulb, a 5000K bulb, & a 6500K bulb for my flowering plant & growing plants. I'm using a combo of CFLs & tube fluros.

I'm only running a total of about 210 watts. Try to find bulbs that are rated at 5000K or higher for blue spectrum - 6500K would be best.

what happens if you were to use the red spectrum throughout the whole prosses?

they wouldnt grow. the plant needs the blue spectrum to veg. i cant tell u why but i just know.

i just thought that it might give it more light with both the lights on giving it a wider spectrum like its been said.

the highest blue spectrum i can find (for the cheap price, under a 10er) is

so i turn on both of my blye spectrum lights an 1 of my red spectrums. then when i wanna flower i can just turn off both the blue veg lights an turn the other flowering red light on?

EDIT: also, lookin at the lights on the link, they are 4 pin connections. can any1 link me a E40 connection with a british plug on the end with 4 pin connection on the other. i can only find 3 pin connection

2nd EDIT: ahh just realised i dont think i need a certain connection, they are all screw in's and should fit in fine.

4000K is o.k. for vegging, but the plant won't grow vigorously & make sure you keep those lights as close as possible to reduce stretching. 3700K - 4000K= Rapid Growth, 4100K - 5000K= Good Leaf & Stem Development, 5000K - 8000K= Excellent Leaf & Stem Development, also 3000K - 3700K= Highly Active Photosynthesis For All Stages Of Development & Below 3000K is used by the plant to flower. I got this info from some past research before I started.
