| | What are the nuts for me? | | Hello,
So I went to the hydro store the other day and way completly overcome by the mass amounts of, well, everything. I'm trying to keep my op as chemical free as possible, it's in a sterile box with hepa air filters and always kept super clean so I never have insects or anything like that to worry about, sterile promix soil, computer controlled temperature, the whole deal. Anyways, what I need to know is, what are the best nuts to buy from this hydro store keeping in mind I'd like to be as chemical free as possible with large yields. Also, I hear warm castings and bat poop work great, this shop had both but I'm worried about sanitation things there. My setup is so clean and pure these things sound gross to me and sound like they should be kept away. Do any of these things contribute to mold or bacteria or bugs at all? Any insight would be great, they have rows and rows of little bottles of liquid ferts so anything you'd recommend they probably have. I've just been using walmart brands crystline stuff that disolves into water (shultz) and they arn't impressing me that much.
THANKS!!! |

| | I use the botanicare line, it is organic. I haven't burned my plants once and I even gave full strength flowering nutrients to a 7 day old clone and there were no ill effects! I use the pro grow/bloom. You will want to get the cal/mag too if the promix doesn't have lime in it. |

| | i have never used them but if you base "the best" on price then advanced nutrients seems to be "the best". |

| | Ya price isn't a concern, I mean in the end I think it will be worth it, I just don't know what strengths and stuff to use for what times. Do they make completely organic fertz like gangababy mentioned? Do those cause bugs/molding/smell etc.? |

| | I'm using two large cardboard BBQ boxes all cut and duct taped together to make a nice large cardboard grow room. I have a computer fan attached to a hepa air filter for the intake and another computer fan going through a home made carbon filter for the exhaust. I have 1 255 LED pannel and I'm running 4 25W warm white CFLs and 3 25W cool white CFLs. I've got 2 fem clones of blueberry, 2 of AK 47 and 2 Jamacian bud. Does this help give an idea of what nuts I need? Does lighting effects the type of nuts I should buy? The only grower I know does it very large scale and everything he uses is made from scratch (he does homemade ferts) so his advice dosn't apply so much for my situation. |

I think any 2 or 3-part (micro, grow, bloom) from any quality manufacturer will do the trick for you.
I have used General Hydroponics and am trying out Fox Farm. Many folks swear by other brands like Advanced Nutrients, Canna, Dutch Masters, etc.. |

| | Say "nutes" not "nuts" lol. Nuts sounds so weird. Anyways, bat guano and worm castings (worm shit) are not unsanitary. I believe bat guano actually comes from fossilized guano. It's not icky, it's not unsanitary, it's 100% organic. Same with worm castings and kelp. Both organic and completely sanitary. They're about the closest to the best "chemical free" nutrients you're gonna get. Not all advanced nutrients are organic, and I was told their non organic stuff is straight chemicals, not even semi organic. Check out this website Advanced Nutrients for AN's organic nutrients. Otherwise you can make your own teas with stuff, or go with botanicare too.

| | Be wary of some organic claims as it contains a lot of misinformation. For example - water is a chemical -have you ever heard of the fake "ban dihydrogen monoxide" petition? |

| | Ok cool, seems like that iguana and fox farms look organic, they both have worm castings and bat guano in them. Do I need to worry about the N-P-K if I'm using organic? I notice fox farms tells you to buy the 3 NUTES and follow the chart on when to use them, which makes me think I'm going too try fox farm. When I was at the store, I wasn't paying attention to brand names, are these brands usually stoked by hydroponics stores with large selections? Thx for all the replies btw | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
