Use a vaporizer?
Live in a city?
park your car in a garage?
drink city water?
Eat foods that have 'ingredients'?
Welcome to the chemical world.
(now not to say limiting chems where ya can is a bad thing.) |

But having said that, there are very safe and good for us synthetics and deadly powerful naturally-occurring elements.
Not trying to start an argument or dissuade you in your pure and healthy way of living, just submitting for your consideration that just because something is man-made doesn't necessarily make it worse or dangerous than a naturally occurring substance.
For every wonderful thing nature produces like THC, she also makes an anthrax. |

But like, by chemicals I mean pesticides and herbicides and ones that are bad for you I try to stay away from anything toxic. Also I hear epson salts in a lot of nutes make your peter not so happy. And yes, I do vaporize. I use my volcano a few times a day and smoke maybe once a month. But I try to eat heathly and if I can at the grocercy store I'll buy organic etc, not a health nut or anything, but close, so that's what I'm going for with this, I want to make my daily THC experiances to be as safe as possible... if that makes sense at all. My main reason for startin this was because I had no idea what chemicals were going into the stuff I was buying, so I figure it'll be safer and heathlier to grow my own. It was a great choice, I find it a lot of fun and very relaxing, and I love that there's places like this where I can get advice

| | As you can see by the pic, the quality of these buds looks alright but they are so small. Going with these more expensive nutes will keep the same quality only with bigger buds right? Btw, this is the legendary G13 plant crossed with lowryder. I only got a half off my last plant and it wasn't a lowryder (romulan3 crossed with diesel)

The bud size is determined by all the environmental variables - not just food. Also genetics plays a major role - the most awesome nutrients can not overcome genetics. Nor can they overcome other less-than-desirable environmental factors. |

| | Any other tips that might help then? Due to space restrictions my pots can't be bigger than 10 - 12 inches across. I have about 6 CFLs and 1 LED panel running in a box that's about 2 feet by 4 feet by 4 feet, I'm willing to spend money to add anything extra you guys think might help. I won't run anything that runs hot because I'm out of the house at least 10 hours a day and these are cardboard boxes I'm using and fire scares me. I've tried with more CFLs but the plants seem to reject the extra lights by browning. I always have a fresh clean air supply on fans that are running 24/7. What else can I do to increase yield? Before I was using good seeds bought at the hemp shop and now I'm using clones from a dispensary which are all suppose to be deadly, 3rd gen or later. (Ak47, blueberry and jamacian) |

(Ak47, blueberry and jamacian) | The best thing I can tell you is experience will increase yield (but even experience takes a back seat to genetics).
The other thing I will mention is the larger the plants are when switching to 12/12 the larger the yield. So the other thing you can do is build a nice big grow box - or dedicate a room so your plants get huge.
you can also approach it from the other direction - rather than concerning yourself with greater yield you can go for less yield but more often (SoG style). |

| | Ya I was thinking of picking up some plywood in a few weeks and trying to play handyman... should be able to handle building a box. You are right though, I could start a few plants every month expecting a smaller yield.... hrmmmm, got some thinkin to do. I really only need an Oz a month since it's all personal. Is it a pain to do 4 plants a month or should I stick to 8 plants every 2 months? What about pot size? If I have an 18 inch plant is a 10inch pot going to be big enough? Following that line of thought, would I get a better yield off 1 plant in a 20 inch pot or 2 plants each in 10 inch pots (room is my biggest factor) | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
