Alright I got some new lights not a huge step up but better. Instead of a 1530 lumen incandescent light bulb, I now I have a 1600 lumen cfl bare-mini-spiral light bulb right above the soil [2 or 3 in]. I also replaced the closet light with the same type of bulb and I am leaving that on.

I am limited to CFL's right now no matter what, I was lucky to ifnd the ones I did at CVS, thats the only possible place I could go otherwise someone who takes me to get them will ask what theyre for... so not the brightest but it should work shouldnt it? I mean im not expecting the best I just want something to grow.

I germinated several seeds about 5 days ago in a warm spot. 2 days ago I took out a few but others were still sprouted but I left them in the moist towel in plastic wrap and put it in a drawer, today I opened it back up they were still moist and one with about an inch long sprout has a bit of fuzz on it, could be roots in the forming? Some grew a bit and some new ones sprouted. Will those still grow if I planted them?

After planting a germinated seed how long will it take until I see something come out of the ground? and how deep should the soil be?

Also the soil to where the seed is at is very dry, but right below it where the root/ sprout thing is, its moist. Should I water? Even a little bit?

One last question, the CFL bulb in my closet is about 1/2" away from the wall [its the closets design of the socket] (Incandescents were about 1 1/2" away) could that pose a fire hazard?

The bulbs will work yes, if you can get to home depot and get higher watt's, it would be better. depending on how far you planted you seed, it should take 1-3 days average, if you put it about 1 cm in, it should take1-2 days at most in good conditions, also depending on the seeds, (so far this is what i have examined myself.). anyway, just be patient. Yes if you plant those other seeds they will grow, put them in with tail down. if i was you, i'd mist the top of my soil if it was that dry, and the seed is brand new.

CFL's put out MUCH less heat than an incandecent, it will be just fine, don't worry about fire.

Thank you for the reply. I planted 6 germinated seeds hoping for 1 to surface if others do I may just kill them. I also added white paper and a strip of tin around the growing area.

I wont be going to home depot any time soon. But if this plant grows then I will invest in better lights, more, and a better growning environment.

careful with the foil, if your walls are white you shouldnt need it, it doesnt reflect as well, use the dull side, otherwise it could end up reflecting the light harmfully. (hot spots) More than 1 of those seeds will probobly sprout, if i was you i'd keep more than one, if the 1 you keep turns out male, it was all for nothing..

Yeah the walls are white but my closet is about 4 ft wide, and currently im growing with the lamp side ways [wedged] and the pot on the floor, theres about a 1 and a half foot radius around the 2 liter put. So the walls arent even a factor except for the top closet light which barely does a thing. I just put foil on the most heated side, since the papers very close to the bulb and I put white paper on all the other sides. Making for a very bright crater in the middle of my closet.

The only annoyance is my bed is right infront of the closet door, so all night I stare at the door with the bright outline. Makes it hard to sleep lol.

when you go to flower you will want to somehow block light from leaking into the closet, because your plant will need 12 hours of darkness. if light can leak out, it can leak in.

That will be no problem, I have a "dark room" in the closet that I used to seal up and smoke in, I will just move it in there.

Another question, about how much bud can I expect from one plant? I mean if I fully grow it out and flower after 3 months[?] about how much at the minimum can I expect? Like a dime, quarter, oz, etc...?
