I want to get some northern light and maybe ak48 for this season. Say we fast forward and I notice which are males and I uproot them cut them up and trash. Fast forward more and and im all done dry my buds and its great weed.
How can I make sure that I use these exact plants the following year without rebuying seeds? Or is there no way?

I plan on cloning but I will be growing outside only What about the off months?

Keep a male away from the females and then selectively pollinate a few branches so they have fertile seeds. Hopefully the genetics are stable enough that the seeds you get are close to what you planted.

I read a lot about this, I don't know what you will take from the same but I learned this simple fact:

Take clones because you will screw up anything else; clones are controllable, predictable, easy and don't require a family tree. (except mom)

If you were to try and breed the plants it wouldnt work out as you might think. Breeders use F1 generations. Those are mixes of two stable strains, their offspring is known as a F1 hybrid. They are a combination of dominant traits and usually outperform either parent. But with each subsequent generation the recessive traits start to show up again. That's the way breeders make their money. If you could easily make your own seeds why buy from them? The best bet is to breed two different strains you have. That way you can make your own F1 hybrid. At least you know they will have all the best traits. If you in breed than you will get the recessive traits showing up again. Eventually it stabilizes after many generations.

take your male grow him away from your girls when his balls are about to burst cut them off into a bag CAREFULLY. select a branch and place the bag over it and secure with string shake the branch lightly and leave the bag on for about 10 days then remove and remember which bud is the seeded one good luck m8

learn how to seed one branch without getting the whole thing pregnant....that's best left to someone more experienced...unless you want tons of seeds...it'd be kind of a bummer this year, but next year, look out! you'll have lots of seeds.selling at $50 for ten...hmmmm!

make some more beans or get a mother and start cloning!
