Hey,

I am germing my AK48 seed in a glass cup with warm water and a regular lamp right next to it(The Blub is next to the cup), Here is a pic of the seed but Am I doing it right and how does the seed look?

keep it between two soaked paper towels and put a ceramic bowl on top of them. they look fine so far but take my advice, it works all the time. (keep in a room) not too hot and not too cold.

Is it to late to put the seed in paper towels? ALSO should the towels be hot or cold?

no i would do it asap if they have not sprouted. root damage can and will show from putting seeds in straight water from seed till germination. The rule of thumb is around 12 hours. After that place them inbetween two paper towels misted heavily with luke warm water. You may seal it in a plastic baggy or between two plates saucered to look like a ufo.
For extra fast germination put them in a warm place like a window sill or if you have one, on top of a computer tower.

seeds should open with in 12 hours, my mango seeds opened less then 12 hours as long as the roots don't get water you can have them in the glass for 2 days

I dissagree with the paper towel Idea, just plant the seeds below soil and keep it moist, or plant in peat jiffy plugs or rockwool. If your late pulling the split seeds from the paper towels you damage a lot of the baby roots when you "rip" them out of the towel.

Also, no need for the lamp exept as a source of heat, seedsling like a tiny bit of warmth (DONT OVERDO IT) like a seedmat, but they certainly dont need light. Darkness is best.

yea a friend of mine gave me 4 seeds that already have a good tap root and only 1 of them I was able to take off and the rest had teh tap root brake off

I put 3 seeds in room temp water in a shot glass and left it on my comp tower for 2 days and they all had tap roots ( 3/3 germanated )

Ok By accident I put it in cold water would it still be ok?!

how long have they been in the cold water for?

I had all 10 of my seeds germ within 24 hours using the paper towel method. Kept it in my grow box with the lights on 24/0 for the heat.
