So I have 5 fem PPP seeds from nirvana. Placed in a warm wet paper towel and into a bowl. Plastic bowl sits wrapped in a hydrofarm heatmat. Next day, two taps showed, that night I put the into 1" rockwool cubes. Got them under a warm lamp in my drip system so they get water every 3 hours for an hour. How long till they should poke through the surface? I have the top of the cube gently pushed closed to keep out light but its not compact. Today is day three for them and the other three seeds aren't cracking.

It can take anywhere from 2-7 days from what I've seen. In that video that's all over youtube, I'm not sure what it's called, but he's painted himself green, that guys seeds popped up the next day. Genetics probably has a lot to do with it.

Did you soak the rockwool? Seems so stupid to ask, but I thought i would because you have a low post count. If you have, disregard.

im using soil, but it shouldnt be too much different. mine took about 2 to 4 days to pop above ground, but one of them still isnt up and i planted it about 5 days ago.

Yeah. Genetics is part of it. I went away from the paper towel method a few grows ago and never looked back. I just soak and sow.

BTW...I've also been successful just planting it and not even letting it germ. Seed took about 5 or 6 days to sprout that way.

Wow that was fast! Yes the greenman is my favorite one! And yes the rockwool is wet (LOL) as I stated they are now in the drip system. I just looked back at that video again and he puts the cubes in the dark, without closing off the tops, until they sprout then puts them in the light. Could having a heat lamp above them and the surface closed be harmful?

And as far as soaking, what methods do you use to keep temp of the water right?

I just used room temperature water. Room temperature for me in most cases is between 68-74F. I also sometimes use a heating pad under the cups that have seeds soaking in them. Distilled water with just a little superthrive.

I usually soak them between 4 and 6 hours, then plant them into their starter cups.
