k, so i have germinated two seeds. I went and bought some soil with a little bit of fertilizer in it already. I also got some small peed pots, this way when it starts to grow i can just place it in a larger pot. I put the seeds about 1 half an inch deep in the soil and drizzled a little water on top of it. I crafter a little holder for it so the pots are slightly lifted. This way when it drips it will not just sit under the pot. I placed it out in the sun about 20 min ago and i did it all within the past hour. I would like to go buy so florescent lamps. What type should i buy and where?

Well when you're dealing with fluoro's you need to decide if you want the lengthy T5 fluoro's in the metal hood. Or if you want to go with the bulbs that plug into regular sockets. How much are you looking to spend? Is this going to be a full-time indoor plant? Or will it be outdoor?

i can make it a full time indoor, rite now i have it in a spot that gets allot of sunlight but i don't know if it will get enough sun. I'm in L.A and lately we have been getting allot of heat so i figured it be OK to put them out there for the time being. So ya i would want to make it a full time indoor. And im not looking to spend too much money maybe 150 max. But if i can spend less i would like to. should i build a box? Or would i be able to just put it in a pot and put the light above it that be easiest for me. I saw a setup that i really liked i will post a picture of it. Thank you very much Auzzie07 for your help.

Alright well, keep in mind I'm new to this, but I have been reading up on the GrowFAQ, which I would highly recommend checking out. A couple things you need to look into:
1.) Water and Soil pH - The pH of the soil for proper cannabis growing is 6.3-6.8 (6.5 being optimum) Test the runoff water from your plant to see what your soil pH is. 2.) Add a fan - Adding a fan to your grow space will increase the strength of your plant and also ventilate the space. 3.) Lighting - For two plants, and for being on a budget, I would recommend CFLs. I would say get 6 27W Daylight (Blue Spectrum [5000k-7000K]) CFLs for the vegetative stage, and then switch to 8 27W Warm White (Red Spectrum [2700K]) CFLs for the flowering stage. 4.) If you do end up going with an enclosed space (Say two rubbermaid containers atop each other) you may want to consider painting the inside flat white to reflect light easier, or adding Mylar will also help with reflectivity and efficiency of your grow space. 5.) Also, to enhance efficiency using reflectors around your CFLs will help. There is a DIY post about how to make some out of pop cans. 6.) Keep in mind how much open space you have, as once you put your buds into flowering cycle (12/12 light schedule), they will double, and sometimes triple in size. 7.) If you want to get some good soil, everyone raves about Foxfarm Ocean Forest. 8.) That's about all I can think of right now, as this Blueberry is getting to me.

IDl im not sure thats the setup i want to make. If i find them ill let you know. Aussie07 i was wondering. Can you be a little more specific about the lamps i mean you described them well. But what is a CFL lamp and where do i get one. I saw how to make the metal housing thing for it. Do you think my seeds will sprout out of the soil if i leave them outside? Thanks again for the help

CFLs are Compact Fluorescent Lights, they are pretty much replacing incandescent light bulbs because they put out more light while drawing less power. All in all, they're more efficient. For instance, a 23W CFL light bulb is comparable to a 100W Incandescent light bulb, and puts off less heat, thus it is more attractive to budget indoor growers. You can find these bulbs at any hardware store, Home Depot, Lowes.
Those are just the bulbs for the lighting rig. Then you will need some sort of socket, be it a lamp that you put the bulb in (but remember you will need to adjust the light as the plant grows) or you could go buy a socket that is attached to a power cord. As far as how you rig it up, that's kind of half the fun. Find a way to get them rigged up to how you want it. In the picture you posted, that rig used some sort of industrial light clips I've never seen before (but sure do like.) There is another DIY thread on here on how to rig up a standard bathroom light fixture to place into a grow cabinet or you could hang it on a piece of 2x4 and then attach some hooks and chain to the 2x4 and hook it to the ceiling (pending you are able to put some hooks in the wall.) EDIT: I saw I didn't answer your question about whether or not it will sprout, and to be honest, I don't know.

awesome you have been a huge help. So I think what ill do is get some of these lights and try to make them like the picture above. Now the other thing i'm wondering about is this, if i just put them in a pot and set it on the ground if have a drainage problem so i should elevate it and i guess put some type of tray underneath? I'm assuming this is kind of liek the light thing, im just gonna kinda of have to figure that out. ANd in your above post i think it said 8 lights? or should i just get one? My last question is pretty stupid. ONce you have a grown plant does it just grow the nugs ill be smoking or do i take off undeveloped flower buds and let them dry in the light??

I can't tell you for sure how many lights you will need, most people recommend at least 3 CFLs per plant, but I say the more the better, and during flowering you definitely need to bump up the number of lights you're using.
Yea, when you buy pots, they usually sell things that go under them that catch drainage. Snag one, I was at Home Depot today, I think you can get a pot with the drainage bin under it for under 10 bucks. And yes, once you grow the buds, you will need to trim them off and cure them. And keep in mind this is a long process. We're talking maybe 2 weeks from germination to seedling, 5-7 weeks vegging, and up to 10 weeks for flowering, not to mention the curing process, which depends on the method used. Read, re-read, then read again. Happy Growing!
