my current setup

so here it is, my first time, just soil/seed/bucket/floro im going to "pick-up" my new hps lights tonite. my whole setup, lights-soils-tinfoil-duct tape-light bulbs cost me around 60$. my plants broke soil 2 and a half weeks ago. im planning to go with a omni-bucket system next time around, this system is very lowtech (ghetto) but i still think things are coming nicely, they are on 18/6 cycle now

im just wondering when do i switch the lights? or is it good to use them together? they seem so healthy on thier own i dont even know if i should take the floro away from them yet, im using store bought nutes for african violets, lightly and occasionly.
