hi all
well i am totally and utterly new to all of this. ive read a lot of sites and had some conflicting views on how to grow well. my little ladies have just sprouted and i'm going to have to learn as i go along. (the beginers guide on here is brilliant,thanks for that) i certainly smoke for pleasure but it also helps a LOT with pain, which i get constant and daily. i cant find any smoke to buy where im living after lots of busts so im a bit (ok,very very very) desperate,lol.
i was wondering what to do with my 1st lot of ladies once ive grown them. i've heard that you really really shouldnt smoke 1st generation buds, but im in a bit of a rush here. i want to hurry my little ladies along (if they are ladies, too early to know yet), and what to do to make sure that my first buds are ok to smoke.also i cant find anywhere that says at what point i should introduce food? i'd really appreciate any help and advice that can be given.

thanks for your quick reply. i heard they can be full of poisons that can be quite harmfull and that it can be a harsh smoke, that can make ur lungs feel ike they are burning,i read this on one of the 'how to grow' sites...please tell me its total rubbish!

I have never heard that before. As for it being harsh it's all in the way it's cured.

phew,what a relief! i potted my little baby girls a week ago so they have 2 leaves each now. (god they are beautiful,lol). do you think i should start feeding them already?
also ive heard something about pruning certain leaves very early to try to make sure youget females fromthe seeds,but i'm worriedabout doing it wrong..doesit reallymakemuch of a difference oris it mainly due to the lighting?
sorry if i sound such a novice but i really am, ive smoked the stuff for years, but never even seen a real plant apart from in pics!

Eh you can lightly fert them (really really really lightly) when they are young but most potting soil has ferts suitable for 3 or so months. General rule Miracle Grow sucks. There are way better and natural options that will do the same. Check your soil bag and see what it says about fertilizer and how long its meant to work for.

As a general rule sprouts should not be fertilized as it can sometimes be too harsh for them (though I break this rule personally) plan and practice using ferts first (maybe on a potted plant from fred meyers or something) so you dont burn your precious pot

i'll leave my precious babies alone for a while then. i'm not planning on leaving them grow too big cause it really is for personal use only. ive also read that when you get the first lot of buds grow that if u take them off at the point they join the plant that twice as many will grow in their place. im hoping to be able to do that first before i harvest the plant. anyone know if thats a good idea?

I have heard of a method aptly named "Donkey Dick" no flames please I didnt name it. Where you pinch the base of the budding stalk and the plant will expend more resources in the area to repair its self in effect making the area grow disproportionatly large.

I know what you mean. My last bowl wore off an hour ago and my back is already getting pissed.
