Default brown stem vs green stem?

why are some of my stems brownish purple in areas then green in others? One of my plants looks pretty healthy but the stem is awkwardly colored and one of the leaves is looken burned i dont know what to think...

I know this thread is a few months old, but is there an answer to this? How did the plants end up turning out amsterdam?

i think I did end up getting this solved actually... My plants stems are now entirely green. What I believe was causing the problem was a PH problem in the water i was giving the plants. The tapwater here has a high PH value(7.5-, even after evaporating the bad particles with the 24hour method, it was still testing high ph. I now add a few drops of vinegar into my water/nute solution before feeding plants. VOila 1 week or so later, they are healthier looking
