Yea 2" above is CRAZY and I'm in awe that it hasn't been burned to a crisp, man. HPS/MH lights are usually like 12+ inches above. I mean yea it's only 220w...but still. Just do a 'heat test' with your hand to determine if it's okay- put your hand next to the top of the plant, and if you can feel that it's too warm (above 80 is too warm, basically), then raise the light. Keep doing that until you get the height right. That may be stunting the growth, cause it does look small, but it looks healthy otherwise so I dunno....very odd.

And you shouldn't water/feed that often unless the soil is drying out extremely quickly. Watering should be every 3-4 days (unless the soil is drying out really quickly- basically the soil SHOULD dry out between waterings- most people don't let that happen). And feeding should be once a week. Nice job with the pH, etc.

ok i will raise the light but the guy i bought it off recommended it to be about 2" and it seems fine and they really seemed to know their stuff i will raise it but the heat and the rate its growing at seems to be fine my thermometer says 25 which seems to be ok its 22 when its in darkness

No no I was probably unclear about that, my bad. If it's not burning it, and you have a thermometer there and it's fine then don't move it. I just think it's a fuckin' miracle that it hasn't burned it, but the ability to have it that close is really awesome, so more power to ya man. Don't fix it if it ain't broke. Many people don't put thermometers there, which is lazy and irresponsible in my opinion.

ya a thermometer is only like 3 quid and it makes a big difference i feel as you know all the time what the temp is

I couldn't agree more. Temp and pH are extremely important and over-looked by a surprising number of growers (temperature even more so than pH).

i have 11 three week old seedling have enough fan/circulation. i have them under 8 100w cfl's as well as a 18'' blue ray grow light, although the cfl's are about 8-9'' away from the plant tops. is this why my plant is tall but not leafing out naturally. they also have what looks like spinning leafs. please reply
