It's all good. More growth=more bud
Pinching promotes secondary growth, by freeing up more energy. But it also can shock a plant for a week or so...So I don't know if it's going to help her get her repairs done quicker or not...
Okay so checked on my plants today, looking very happy, if a little light burnt (Whoops!) lifted the lights and had a look, theres secondary growths coming out of every node on both plants (4 nodes per plant in total)
are secondary growths increasing the number of budding sites? or should they be topped
growing under 300 watt CFL 6400K, soil, completely cut nutes when they started to get burnt and gave them 2 liters of clean water each about 5 days ago, still on 18/6 vegging (will be until they're 12" tall, or get 7 nodes, and it could be a close one![]()
Picks will follow, but the taller plant (see other posts, didn't dare do a journal on my first grow :P ) is undergoing pinching at the minute (wanted to slow growth to allow the other to catch up so it didn't stretch as i raised the lamp), so looks limper than it did this morning (been battling with this height issue since day one, i've pinned big leaves into soil via loose string in a miled LST, to simulate reaching a ledge, but this is loose enough that when the plant gains vertical growth again, it will pull the pegs free
Will pinching promote secondary growths? as i know it stops growth above the pinch site, and focuses more below, until the stem repairs (only a light pinch, not wanting to stop growth, just slow it)
All help would be wonderful!

Still just a seedling in this crazy growers world!
Not like i've ever grown, nor have any intention of growing cannabis

shocking is fine! theres a serious size difference (turns out one plant was getting slightly more light than the other, and at 300 watt that makes a difference!) one plant is beautifully bushy, the other, is wonderfully strong and thin, but short in comparison , (still packing four nodes with signs of secondary though) would very much like the thin plant to grow nice and tall, but if it bushes out i'm just as happy

also, should i wait until the nodes begin to alternate? i don't really have a time schedule as I'm growing "just because it can be done" no profits gonna be made so its just my own percy smokeas much, and as potent as possible would be nice :P

Pinch any time you like. And if time is no problem you should look into LSTing her as well, or maybe suprcropping. The skinny one () is a great specimen for both/all of these, and you'll have loads of fun tweaking your LST. (Like the Japanese dude in Karate Kid with his bonsai trees! lol)
Started LST on the skinny specimen (as she's know known) godda admit its therapeutic, planning where you want her to grow... pinning her down, and been seeing quick results! Pics soon! promise (possibly tomorrow)

I know how you feel! I could wile away many many hours LSTing my plants....
