I bought the 3 part program from Advanced Nutrients. The Grow, Micro, and Bloom.

The chart on the bottles says to add a teaspoon and a half PER GALLON of the Micro and Grow, then 1/4 teaspoon of Bloom.

However, the chart that they gave me says that it is per quart.

My roomate filled a gallon and put only 1 and a half teaspoon of each into it.

I didnt think that was enough so I filled a gallon by adding 1 and a half teaspoon each into a quart, slowly adding up to a gallon. Thus, we will procede to water whenever it looks like it needs to be watered...

I have not watered my plants yet and want to know if I overdid the amount of nutrients in the water or if I did it right.

Advanced Nutrients have the MOST convoluted instructions that I've seen since I started using hydro for growing my plants. Not only are the instructions convoluted, they call for a nutrient strength that is WAY too strong. I found this out after burning up some very valuable genetics with AN nutes. Beware of salesmen, or hydro store owners/employees who make statements like, "Advanced Nutrients are the very best for the maximum yields, and everything else is shit." Advanced Nutrients have a HUGE markup at the retail end ... and that's why your local hydro dealer recommends them so highly over everything else. AN has also been known to mislabel their bottles by putting the incorrect nute to water ratios on the labels. Because of all their marketing hype, incorrect labeling information, and their just-in-general bull shit, I will never use AN nutes again.

The Lucas Formula with General Hydrophonic nutes works great. PureBlend Pro in combination with CalMag works great. Both are very simple to use and are very effective. WAY cheaper too. Thousands of hydro growers are using both of these products with great success.

If you want the Lucas General Hydrophonics formula, send me a PM. It only uses the "Micro" and "Bloom" ... so you can eliminate the "Grow" in its entirety.

I just had an awsome grow with AN. I used Iguana Juice grow and bloom. couldn't be happier.

is anyone happy with botanicare products and if so do you use everything the offer or just the basics

I love Advanced Nutrients, but then I use a PPM meter and do it right. I never follow the directions on bottles, I go by what the plant tells me and past experience. Live and learn. 1000's of AN users with great success.

It's hard to do hydro without the meters, not impossible, but definitely difficult. Pick up a nice tri-meter so you can tell the temp of the water, PPM and PH. Makes the whole process a lot whole lot better.

No one can put the perfect directions on the back of a nute bottle. That's impossible. Different strains, different grow rooms, different growing systems... it's impossible to come up with one number that works optimally for everyone.

Like laserbrn says you've gotta do some of the work yourself, and that means you need the tools to do it. Everyone has to dial in their grow themselves, you can't trust the bottle to accidentally be correct for your specific set of variables.

I use to use pure blend and I now use AN Iguana Juice. I like the results from AN Iguana Juice alot better really no comparison except both are ph and ppm balanced. The pure blend just ain't got it. Nothing against it or anybody who uses it. It's just not for me

I have three almost full quarts of AN micro, grow and bloom. I'm so frustrated in trying to figure out the right way to use them I'm going to throw them away. I'm not going to sacrifice a grow just to learn the nuances of using this one product.
