How long does it take form seed to sprout?

I have two seeds that i germinated in paper towels in 2 red dixie cups filled with soil. I put a plastic bag over it and a rubberband to keep in moisture. Should i leave this on? There in my drawer right now which is warm and dark.

I just planted mine, I just put a couple of tissues in a bowl, put the seeds in and then a couple o tissues on top, kept them wet and left them in a warm place. after 3 days they were ready to go. i don't think it matters if they're kept in a dark or light place. I didn't make any diff for me anyways.

im not talking about germinating them im talking about after germination. After you plant the seed in the soil how long does it take to sprout?

Totally depends but id say anywhere between 24 hours to 3 or 4 days. Can be longer. Keep the cling film or plastic wrap on until they sprout. Make sure the soil is moist but not waterlogged. As soon as you can see the first two leaves put them under your lights.

Ok thats the answer i was looking for. And 1 more thing. To keep the moist should i just spray the soil or actually pour water onto it?

Urm, i don't think it really matters. What i do is use a tea spoon and pour it around the plant, i give it 2 or 3 tea spoons full.
