Question Planning first grow

hey everybody.

been reading the forums for a while now, doing my research, etc. i am pretty much ready to start buying everything i need. my grow space is only 3x3x5 feet, in a closet, in an apartment building. i plan on using CFLs. i have some questions:

- how many plants can i fit in this space comfortably? my guess is 2 or 3.
- how many bulbs should i use? i know i'll be adjusting them daily.
- how many 24W CFLs can i fit on an outlet, on average? i don't know how many amps the circuits in my building provide. i can tell you that i can run my desktop computer + a bunch of other shit from one outlet on a power strip; if it can do that much, will this be enough for the CFLs + a fan?
- will lowe's/homedepot have a cheap light cycle timer?
- how much do i need to worry about reflecting the light from CFLs? it seems like their strength is already dismally low and worrying about reflecting light from over 6" away sounds pointless.

i will probably not build a grow box, as the space will only have one 'open' wall (the other 3 walls being the closet walls + the door), so i might just make some sort of partition with cardboard or some ghetto shit. i will have a simple fan blowing the air around in the closet, but the closet itself isn't very airtight and i am not worried about airflow really. the temperature in my apartment is always around 70F and the humidity is usually low.

thanks in advance for any help :]

I would say you can fit 3-4 full grown plants in there. So germinate 6-8 seeds cuz at least half will be male

If you want descent yield, use 2 or 3 bulbs per plant

You dont need to worry about amps, some other guy did the equation and its something like 78 bulbs per socket. No issues there

Homedepot has cheap timers, so does Walmart(I think)

If your closet is white (most apartments have white walls) then dont worry about mylar

I would suggest buying the book Marijuana Buds for Less, by SeeMoreBuds, its a really good grow journal and its like 15 bucks on amazon, well worth it for how much good info is in the book.
