i was wanting to know if i planted my seed deep enough the seed sprouted up out the soil as u can see in the pics.or are they suppost to look like that. frist grow for me

it is normal for a seed husk to stick on the top like that. you can VERY GENTLY try to remove it but should pop off soon. I have never seen one stuck on quite like that though - it does look like it might cause some problem.

here is one from my grow - as you can see it would be easy to pop it right off whereas yours looks really stuck on there. does it move if you gently try to lift it - can you see anything under it? be careful if you decide to start poking at it though.

is it ok to put some more soil on top it there is still room in the pot?????

if the seed is stuck on the stem - burying it with dirt will not help. But if the root is pushing the seed out, it would be reburied.

i'm not sure if the stem or the root is pushing the seed out. If it is the stem - not a big deal but if it is the root then you'll need to bury it.

I'm not a soil grower but is that just back-yard dirt in that pot?

whew! that's good news - it kind of had that back-yard dirt look to it.

can you tell if it the stem or the root sticking out?

If it is a stem - it should be anywhere from a very pale green to purplish.
If it is a root - it will be very, very white, shiny and smooth looking.

If it is root, bury it again. If it is stem, you can give it a couple of days to fall off. If it doesn't fall off in a few days, then we might have to take more drastic measures.

I am no expert though so if you hear conflicting advice - please don't assume I am correct.

i will check it and let u know the color of what ever is stickin out and thanks for help....if its the stem an it dont fall off is there something we can do.

To me it looks like the tap root, Take a look at that bad boy and see if its the root or the stem, if so follow all the advise already givin.

Take two toothpicks and pop the seed cover off. Gently though.

If you don't the stem will just keep stretching as the leaves look for light.
