It's my first time growing I started to germinate my seeds in a damp sponge about 16 hours ago.
How long does it normally take for this germination tactic and what can I do to improve the quality of the seeds?

I bought two 27w CFL bulbs(which is equal to about 200w's) is that enough power?
I set my grow space up in a dresser in my closet.
I removed all the droors except for the bottom one, which I wrapped in tin foil and put the lights/fan etc in.

Does this sound like a decent grow space or am I going to need to make some changes to improve the quality of my future plants?

you should becareful about using a sponge coz the root could grow into it,,,,but anyway it should only take upto a few days,,,,sometimes upto a week...

get rid of the tin foil,,,get some reflective plastic or just paint it white,,,,

I check on the seeds every few hours to prevent the seeds from growing into it.
What do the seeds look like when they're ready to transplant into the soil?

I heard the tin foil is better with CFL bulbs because it reflects the light.
Is it true, or should I just switch to reflective plastic?
Would plastic wrap work?
Im running a a little bit short on money. lol

I dont know what you woudl do with plastic wrap, haha.

Foil is bad because itcreates hot spots since it doesnt reflect light evently which could burn your plants, which is no good!

I suggest if your are running low on money to do 1 of 2 things. Either get some cheap white paint (I believe matte not glossy, but check up on that) or some wrapping paper. I have read around a lot that it emulates mylar a lot since one of the sides is shiny and reflective like mylar. A roll of that was said to cost $1 at the dollar store.

just curious about this no foil because it creates hot spots stuff.

Do these hot spots from from the foil being wrinkled? or just in general?
