What he said, for sure you are going to get odor. With that said one plant wont be that much you can go get a few of those wick type pop up air fresheners and cover it up.

One plant is not bad, also the trick is to put the air fresheners in the return for the ac unit, do you know what that means?

you may get lucky, you may not be lucky, some plants are pretty low on odor, especially if it's just 1 small plant
but you won't know that until you're in the middle of the grow, and it can be hard to cut a nice looking plant even if it does smell
have a plan B for a smelly plant, which can be all the way from a carbon filter to ozone

If its a small space, a plug in mini ionizer with built in fan may be sufficient to suppress the bulk of the odor. Inexpensive too.

I am with dragon on this one. My first grow was in a 1ftx1ftx3ft little cab. Had cfls for lighting and one plant. smell was not bad until you get a few weeks into flowering. then it was bad, bad enough for my mom to search the house and find it...I was 18 and temporarily living at home. i admit it was not the brightest idea i have had to grow in my moms basement, but in any event, the whole house smelled at week 4 flower (3000sq.ft). that was over 10 years ago and quickly learned my lesson. CARBON CARBON CARBON. I have no worries whatsoever with the carbon scrubber

your ac unit sucks it air through what is called a return, some are up high some are on the ground, they are vents in the wall if you walk around you will find it. Like a vent with nothing behind it, usually big. With that said I take off the grate and I put two large ones in there. The air is sucked in there by the ac, while it is running, and circulates through the house. I agree with the above it does not get rid of the smell but here it masks it so much that the house smells like a garden. Best of luck
