why do my fan leaves sometimes has 5 leaves then the other has 4?

My guess would either be the genetics or stress on the plant? But I'm not too sure on this one.

are the leaves deformed/mutated in any other way? most likely just the genetics of the plant as long as there is no mutated/crinkled growth.

now if there is mutated/crinkled growth it could be a number of things and i would start with the roots.

yea soil PH can lock out things and sumtimes make the plant make odd leave numbers .. I think specialy in flowering ..

not to much in to this .. just read a littel about it .. think I remember sumthing about PH .. do some research/google it ..

yes the other leaves are deformed like 5 finger fan leaves has 2 round leaves while the 3 is normal

in hands its like the pointing finger, middle finger, and ring finger are normal while the thumb and pinky formed like oblong shape with no lines.

if the plant is making odd leave numbers, is it a good sign or bad sign?

well if its genetics dont worry .. if it the root/soil PH you need to look in to it ..

need some more info .. how old .. in what medium aso.

mine is in flowering right now .. uptill flowering I got 5 fingers then 7 then 9 .. but now in flowering it make 1... 3 and 5 fingers at the bud tops perfectly normal ..

i just got my soil in my plantbox outside the house, where santan flowers grew there.

it sprouted around april 4 2012, until now im vegging it. it is starting to form some branches in the internodes of the main stem.

i use rain water and purified water for watering and misting.

i am having a hard time on my plant but i hoping for a good yield with quality buds/stalks.

nahhh dont do that .. dont know if it acid or alkaline or what it contains .. in best case it lack a lot of stuff weed needs .. in wors case you get bugs/bugs eggs in your grow .. not to talk about seeds from other plants aso ....

use then 5-10$ on some good soil .. and repot em .. Im sure that will help .. cant hurt ..

try to get some realy good organic weed soild .. Plagron All mix or boibizz All mix ..
but that wont even cut it .. its a sciens .. need to add stuff like blod/bone meal .. lime aso.

but atlest get some good soil .. and get some perlit if possible .. lega nuts can work .. also nice to have em in the bottom of the pots ... weed dont like wet feed .. like airy soil ..

rain water is great .. dont even have to correct PH .. just keep useing that .. make sure to filter it and keep it inside for ½ a day or so .. so it is temperd and not to cold .. roots like room temp water ..

and purified water is great for misting .. once or twise a week .. evry day if you struggling with low humidity (weed like +40% humidity in Veg and less then 40% in flowering)

you can also add stuff to your misting .. like 1/4 strenges liquid nutriens .. and a wedding agent .. like wet betty .. or yucca .. break water tension so plant can take it up more easy ..

also .. did you know plants take up 90% of the moistor in the air from the under side of its leaves .. its wher its pores are locatet .. so mist them under the leaves .. and do it early .. so it have all day to dry and take up the water/nutriens .. same go for watering .. and water good when you water .. need to see a littel run off .. and then let it dry up good ... top 2-3 inches need to be dry .. pots need to be light .. weed dont like to wet constandly .. need air to its root ..
