with good ventilation, it should be able to be kept closed at all times.
thats what that small opening is near the bottom of the tent for you to reach in and water them. j/k thats an intake.
I'm going to start growing in a tent instead of my bathtub and want to know do you leave the tent closed all of the time or just for dark time? I know it's a stupid question but I really need an answer, Thank you.

Thank you that's what I needed to know.
your door should be closed all of the time, because light leaks during the dark period are usually bad and you can't always be around to close the door when the lights turn off
make sure to check temps/humidity regularly until you find out where it is with tent closed.

tents are suppose to be closed ( in my opinion ALL environments should be closed ) an open environement only increases chances of Pest and conflicting outer enviroments
rule one of new environment
get everything operating in there ( lights , fans ) and close everything and let it run for a day with your Humidity and temp guage.. get one from wal mart for $10, it has both Humidity and Temp and a Hi / Lo feature which is needed so you know whats ur Hi and Low for the day
DO ALL THIS BEFORE YOU PUT PLANTS IN dont put plants in an environment if u dont know if the plants will like it yet or not..
Run your tent closed for a day or 2 with lights running so you know ur temp and humidity ranger
temps 65-90 will grow cannabis, but your optimum temps are between 70-80, extended periods outside of this range will cause problems
humidity between 30-70 will grow cannabis, optimum between 50-60 for veg and 40-50 for flowering, extended periods outside of these ranges MAY cause issues, (depending on multiple variables, such as size of plants, air ventilation, co2, and so on) these variables can help your plant handle more humidity stress.
