their is no way to tell if a plant is male or female not because its this color not because its tall not because its fat or branchy ....anything you see on this is a myth the bottom line is you have to just wait and see at about 4-6 weeks you will get some preflowers...and im sure you will be back then to ask what sex it could be again lol....is the taller one firther from the light?? a common mistake that causes alot of new growers seedlings to stretch is that the light is too far away if your using flourescents and have a proper humidity you can put the lights 2-6 inches away and this will cause very tight nodes and eliminate that stretching

No need to wait for pre-flowers anytime you want a plant to show sex you can just change the lights to 12/12 to initiate flowering whenever you want
I apologize for my incessant rambling, but if you are patient there is inner hidden wisdom in most of my posts...Like playing literary "Where's Waldo."--------------- See, it's fun!

Have read that typically the tallest, most vigorous plants are more likely to be male.

That rule of thumb has not held up IME. Might be true, but not here.
It works like a vaporizer. We'll get stoned through the vents on the way there.

You mean a temporary switch to 12/12 to show sex before preflowers are present, then switch back to 18-24 hrs of light to resume veg growth?

No ill effects with this method?

well you can do that however its a bit stressful and not a good idea...i think she meant just flower it whenever you want but this also i disagree with...the plant isnt fully mature until you see uneven internoding which will happen soon after preflowering and waiting naturally for this will do two good things for you one the flowering cycle will be stronger and more productive due to the spaced nodes and two i personally believe the bud will be stronger but thats just derived from common sense not 100 percent positive its true...

I got ya. Damn. Cutting some weeks off that seed>sexed time would be amazing.
