12/12light cycle in a 24 hour period
No light leak is preferred. A tiny bit of light leak won't hurt
OK I was told today that I should not have complete darkness during my lights out time. I have been trying to flip my light cycle from on in the day to on at night. so I have been running a 26 hour day 12on/14off. I didn't want to go lights out for 24 hours so this is what I decided to do. made sense to me anyways. and while explaining this a guy told me that it shouldnt be totally dark is there any merit to this or should I change what I am doing........

pretty sure they need 12 hrs complete darkness to produce buds. Photosynthesis and shit..hehe
that is what I thought too. today is 3 weeks into my first grow she seem to like the complete darkness.012.jpg
If you want to flip your light cycle just do it in one shot, but lengthen the dark period to do it. I've found it better just to do that than stagger like you're talking about. Kinda like pulling off a bandage.
