you need to have a constant light cycle with the lights you are flowering or vegging with but if i was you and thought this could happen again

i would bye a back up power supply that your mains could be run though and use a 20w cfl
so its on all the time your other lights are on but if you have a power cut the 20w cfl will use the back up power supply to keep light cycle good
this is not good for the plants but a lot better than all the lights turning off

I put a jug of frozen water in front of my intake fan and my temp is around 86-87,but we're having a major heat wave on the east coast.I'm definately gonna get some kinda cooler soon.I'm scared to death to put the jug in the phototron,it's too cramped and I'm afraid of putting the roots on ice.can the roots take more or less heat than whats above ground?my gizmo has two 3' fans(in and out),but other threads suggest the intake should be 2x the size of the out.Is this a necessity or is for optimal conditions?

I personaly don't know the answer to that one. but I would say that you would want a bigger intake to allow better airflow in,but at the same time one would think the exaust fan sould be bigger so that you can pull heat out. I think that your gizmo would set it up the correct way(or did you put the fans in) and was the 25w mh in there or did you put the in. I wwas thinking that could still be your heat sourse problem.

I wouldn't ice the roots, but ask around. lol maybe you could hang some dry ice in the just don't let it touch your plant at all. its smaller and colder. I might get yelled at for that comment we'll see

agree .. and I would even keep it like that .. just use boxes/book to pile up the plant and then remove em as it grows ..

make much more sens to me .. then to move the light/reflexter/wires up and down .. atlest in a small space ..

yeah they are I had to start flowering at a differnt time then i wanted. after I got back in town I started fipping the light cycle figured it wouldbe less stressful then 24 hrs of dark. once I get the time right it will be back to 12/12
