could make a cheaper more efficient grow room than that.. tru it has them filters etc, but if your handy u can make sufficient air circulation and dissapate any smells.. Id prefer a 600w globe, and i prefer mayb 4, 5"foot decent plants, instead of like 8 or 10 smaller ones.. Thats me tho. The set up is ok, but little expensive, i have setup a 400w gro for under 400$ b4..

a smart set-up, but costly. you could do an armoire grow box on the cheap. and net more space. just a thought.

this set up doesnt include the hydroponic equipment but just the lights and fans
theres a option to get 600w lights aswell for a little extra but im always paranoid about power cos my flatmates are stingy and i have no idea how much power this will use up

ive always been really keen to make my own grow box but id have no idea what im doing equipment wise
i think i might pop by their store sometime this week and check this set up and see if theres other cheaper options to choose from.

also this is NZD not USD so the kitset box would be $810 us

fist ask your self what you want/need ..

do you want monster plants and a hugh haverst ? or is it ok to haverst a few OZ for yourself ?


based on that and what space and $ you have will deside it ..



either cover/seal the hole carages .. buy 4 1000W MH/HPS lamps and a hugh +200mm ventilator and filter that fit ..

or build a small 2x2x4 wooden box you can hide in the corner .. with a 100mm bathroom fan and cooker carbon filter to make a DIY out take at the top/back of the box and some small holes at the bottom .. fit a 250W CLF and grow 1-2 autos ..

or some wher in between ..

im after a personal stash with quality over quantity since my last dealer died yesterday lol
and cos majority of nz weed is outdoors and theres pretty much no such thing as strains here, just indoors and outdoors.
what i want at the end of the day is a growing wardrobe/cabnit that none of my friends would notice since my garage is the "drinking and smoking/partying area" and something i can take down quickly if i needed to
smell doesnt really bother me as my garage smells like weed all the time and if we have an inspection i can just open the garage door.
ive just made a pc growbox for shits and giggles and im gona see how that works out and if it all goes to plan then il spend the money ive saved and buy this
or else try and make my own wardrobe and hopefully not fuck up haha

odour WILL become a problem .. unless useing somekind of activ carbon filter with a ventilation pulling the air out of your grow room ..

I hear stories about Ppl. witch neighbouring tell em they can smell it when they turn around the corner 50m down the street or across the road ..

realy .. I did´t know either to begin with .. I had 2 small 3 weeks old kush plants in my appartment .. and the stink was like realy bad male catpiss fist I could only/mostly smell it when I came home .. but 4 weeks old I had problems even to stay/sleep in my appartment !

and in flowering it get extrem .. as I see it .. a good filter/ventilation is as importent as light and water .. you realy cant do this half ..

2 hrs after mounting my filter and ventilation I couldnt smell **** all gone

one of my if not the best investment I made (130$ in total)

if I would imagen it was me .. had a garages I use .. but still want to grow stelth and be able to even move em ...

hmmm... how about one of them boxes they use at concerts .. thats spring in mind .. you know the roadis push around with stuff in them ..

wooden boxes .. like 4x3 feet and 4 feet high or so .. I bet you can get em in diffrent size .. but Nm. I would build it myself ..

make it maybe big enough to fit a 4" 4 tube T5HO fixture in ther and do autos/ScorG ..

so maybe +4" long and 2" feet deep and maybe 4-5 feet tall .. and put weels on it so I could move it if needed ..

make holes on the back for wires and intake/outtake and put it in the corner aginst the wall .. could even put a lock on it
put some boxes around it to cover it up for your nosy friends ..

dont make it out of new wood and place it in the middel of the room alone is what Im trying to say I guess ..

I would build it out of playwood and 2x2 wood sticks ..

mount some small weels ..

paint it white inside ..

fix the T5HO fixture a few inchs from the top (why I would choose T5HO is so I dont have to worry to much about heat and noisy ventilations aso.)

I would not move the light fixture .. I would make a shell for the plants I could move up and down ..

and I would make a DIY out take on the back of the box .. over the light fixture and fit a carbon filter or two infront of a cheap bathroom ventilation (or a more expensiv one .. twise the price can get a realy silent one)

and make some small holes in the bottom/under the box for a passiv air intake and a extra for the eletric wire (place it next/infront of a light switch)

and fit a small clip on fan in ther to make some air circulation ..

then the box is more or less ready I guess ..

then I would buy 2x6500K tubes and 2x2700K tubes and grow 2-4 autos with 18/6 light all the way ..
maybe in small coco pots .. or even DWG once I had a few good haverst with normal soil and got it all under controle ..


note: this is just how I might do it based on the info you gave me .. do some more research .. and find out what might be right for your needs .. and what works ..

Bear in mind that it can be done on the cheap if you want. My first grow cost me $250 including everything, even $90 for seeds, but that is with a closet already available. If your garage already smells like weed, then who gives a fuck, a little carbon scrubber like I made in my journal (for $40 including fans) would be sufficient. And you should be able to expect your mates to not nark on you without hiding it too well - it's not exactly uncommon for people to grow their own in nz.

As for the landlord, just a good airing out and flick the lights off when he comes round. I've coasted through a few inspections like this, no worries.

Good luck (not that you need it - just look at some of the drop kick growers in nz haha. its easy as fuck)

so ive decided to go ghetto and get my mate to help me make a large wardrobe that i can keep in my room
gona look into making a carbon filter and getting fans later down the line once ive made the wardrobe this weekend
all i need to think of is the lights
il probly roll up to the switched on gardener this weekend and get adivice on what would suit my growroom then come back on here and see if there trying to rip me off haha
