No. HPS is the bulb to use, IF your only using 1. If your using two or more, a "Blended spectrum" is preferable. MH lights encourage trichome production, along with low RH.

As for my opinion, I think I'm seeing airy buds. Your light might be too far away. Or the glass might be taking out too many lumens. Usually air coolers use 1,000W lights for this reason. Not discouraging you, just saying. For every foot away from your light source you go, the lumens level is cut into a quarter. So a 95,000L Digilux is 95,000 lumens 1 foot away from the bulb. At two feet that's only 24,000L. At 3 feet, 6,000L. I would not recommend putting a MH in a tube, because glass absorbs a lot of UV radiation. Also, nutrients might be a factor. Micro-nutrients are required for resin production. Make sure your nutrients list Copper, Boron, Manganese, Iron, Molybdenum, and Zinc. If organic, try General Organics seaweed. Great trace source. Try to control RH and temp. Air should make leaves "Dance" a little. Good luck and keep growin'.

good point.. however. i have over done the ferts. which wiped away the frosting.

the bulb is about a foot away from the tops and with regards micro nutientes I dont have the full list as it says more trace elements found next grow I am using advance nutrients micro for flowering then see if that might be the case but come on no cristals at all I think this is strain related because they have always been healthy plants they still are but just no resin production after 4 months waiting this sucks

Are you counting your days of flowering by time you went to 12/12, or when hairs showed?

I know this is a dated post but I didn't see anyone say that you probably aren't loading enough sugars into the plants. Up your dosage of sugars (I use AN Carboload..its aways worked best out of any of the tons I've tried) This directly relates to your crystals. I ran one nute cycle without a sugar additive and my shit had a weak yield. After using the same amount of Carboload as I do AB I get way heavier and denser yields and never get burns.

Do lookout if you are getting burning of pistils thou. Too much hydroplex/bigbud can fry your pistils easily thru your flower cycle which I've learned the hard way :/

You don't actually need sugar unless you're organic. It won't give you trichs if you have none either.
