I tried Brian's method last night. When I cut the bud it smelled lemony sweet. After cfl drying it smelled like hay. It did dry it rather quickly though....smoke report: not good but it also wasn't quite ready and it's bagseed so who the hell knows. I did get kinda sleepy, but not so much high. It was exciting waiting to see if it was going to work or not though. So my verdict is it's an ok way to test to see how potent your surprise bagseed is. I wouldn't do it to kind bud though. Don't knock it till you try it right? So now that I've tried it What a stupid effin idea...... HA! I'm kidding Brian!
I haven't tried drying on top of a CFL, though I have used the microwave method. Very harsh... still gets the job done. However, like others the best way is the let it dry and cure way.
Another fast(er) method I would recommend, is by placing bud in a paper bag.. It will dry a little faster. (though only if you really want it that bad.)
Where do you live? Oklahoma? Flushing doesnt do anything? Fast drying on a cfl? You must be the kind of person who knows where the "good" fast food joints in town are. I dont mean to be a weedsnob, but bro...what savagery!

Get a Dehumidifier, a screen, a fan, and a small closet.... Lay wet trimmed product all out on the screen... with the Fan blowing on it... Dehimidifier set to ON... Close the door... go back in 10 hrs.... BLAZING hot in there... Put product in a bag.... Seal it.... Leave for an hour or so... It will moisten again... (this is called "sweating").. Put it back in Dehumidifier closet on the screen for another couple hours... DONE.... Doesnt lose any potency, or taste, and once in a bag for a while, it gets its smell back nicely... You dont end up smoking hay, it actually tastes like its supposed to depending on the strain... This is a GREAT fast way to dry your buds.... But it takes about 16 hours or so total.... If you cant do it over the course of a day, then you are not growing.... maybe "your friend" is....

Yo brian try this when you harvest. Trimm off all the leaves hang the buds to cure in the normal way. take your trimmins put it in a pot of vegatable oil cook on med for an hour. strain the oil thru mesh use the oil in recipe for brownies. Knock your socks off
You must be stoned to be drying weed that way.
I quick dried some popcorn off of my Neville's Haze a week ago. 225F in the oven for 20 minutes. Got high as hell, but it was only a test to see what kind of high to expect. The rest of my plant will be harvested and cured the right way, and it looks like I might have another week at least.
