Question Small closet CFL grow - Could someone check I'm doing this right?

This is my first ever grow, here are the specs:

    • Lowryder autoflowering seeds
    • 1x 300w CFL
    • 24/0 light cycle
    • Cabinet is 26 inches high inside
    • Canna Coco Soil
    • Watering once per day - no nutes
    • Average temps between 35C - 40C
    • Average humidity is between 10% - 30%

The plant on the right sprouted about 10 days ago and seems to be growing really slowly - I think this may be because the temps in the cabinet where above 40'C constantly until I got the extractor fan in there 5 days ago, but growth is still slower than I would have expected. The leaves just seem strange, not very even comparing it to some grows on here.

I am in the process of looking for a good 50" high steel cabinet to convert to a stealth grow box soon.

The set up is exellent! nice job, slow growth can be from heat but they are so small, I wouldn't think so. Some auto flowers start out that way then take off rather quickly, just be patient, thats the hard part. They will form their roots systems, and take off. patitienceeeeee.....

Ive never done Canna soil but yours looks bone dry. When I grow seedlings in soil I try to keep it moist. They have delicate root systems at this stage and if it gets too dry all growth will stop and they can eventually just dry out in hours.

Good job. Don't water once per day, that is probably the reason for slow growth. Cannabis likes dry-ish soil for the most part. And a huge pot like that takes much longer to dry out. But you're using coco so it won't hold as much water. Also don't feed them until they are a few nodes in and start to lose their lower cotyledons.

They do not need much water and no food at this point in their life. IMO this is the stage where most new growers over baby, over feed and over water. Let them be, they will grow.

Thanks for the comments guys! What would you reccomend I feed with once they get bigger? I've been looking at Canna A+B but there seems to be lots of different types of it on eBay.

The heat could have cause a slower growth rate. autos are fairly sensitive to stress. glad to see you got that taken care of. also try not to over water. most people tend to over water rather than under water there plants. watering a seedling once a day sounds a bit much in my opinion. seedling dont drink that much water at this stage. Check you soil about and inch or two down. The top may look dry but sometimes a little under that is wet as hell. I havent used coco soil before so im not familiar with their water retention or draining rate, but just use you best judgement. Good luck!

im about 70% done with my first growth, lemme give u a super newbies advice, most of the advice people tell here is total bollocks ! and the end result from the answered questions is that you come not having a clue, its always the same stuff : under/overwatering.

your heat is no good, 40C is like wow ! but mj grows in medium cold and warm weather . now what i really think is going on , and that is not an actual advice, is that this is how your plant IS, its that simple, I started by germinating over 100 bagseeds then took 20 for seedling stage to finally cut down to 4 (space problem) out of those 20 its just so obvious that no 2 seeds grow at the exact same pace (well maybe 2 but u get the point), some were soo slow , but somehow catch up, other r just plain fast, others take it slow and stay slow, that simply how it, we come in short, tall fat, thin, slim, chubby, etc bodies, plants r the same, then again the term biodiversity encompasses gene variation too

I think its 'bollocks' when people act as know-it-alls without reading the OP correctly. OP already stated 40C was too high and corrected the issue by purchasing an extractor fan.

Also, nobody wants to hear about you bragging about germing 100 bagseed. If you want to do this fine, many others choose to germ 10 quality seeds from reputable breeders.

And whats with stating the obvious that plants are all different? Do you think there are any growers who dont know this already?
