    Default Help with led grow room

    i kind of already posted this but noone has answered my thread so here goes again. I'm setting up a grow room and trying to go with led's. i want to use a 10 x 10 x 7 tent. what is the best wattage of led to use and of what quantity to use in this space. also since i'm using led's do i need to purchase any kind of exhaust? if its not needed then how do i cover the odor if no carbon filters or ozone generators are used? if anyone can chime in i'd appreciate it. thanks

    I have a few different LED lights and would say blackstar is great for the cost. I would call gotham hydro and ask what they think. I use 2 of the (I think 240's in a 3.5x3.5 space and will soon be trying scrog for better results
    You will want a filter and fan. Heat will build up with several lights going and if you want to lower the odor you will need a filter.

    I'm a first time grower and I currently have one Blackstar 240 w clone/veg light and a 90w UFO. My tent is only 4 x 5 x 3, so I'm planning on getting another 240w and then my veg tent should be done. I'll probably do the same wattage in my flower tent. I know my tent demonsions don't match yours, but just giving you an idea of what I'm working with in a smaller tent.

    For now since money is kind of tight I'm going to go with x2 500 w blackstars lighting 12 or so plants. Ideally I would like to have enough money together to have 4 of the 500s and 24 to 36 plants. Thanks for the info guys

    I'm not one of those people who just posts 'Don't be a fag, get a HPS set up'.

    I'm going to go ahead and say get 2 90w UFO's. I don't know that much about growing with LED's, but i've known friends with LED set ups though. That's around what they used, i hope this helped.

    So i purchased the x2 blackstar 500 led's today. Still would like to get at least 2 more though. In the process of ordering the tent, and the seeds just arrived today. So excited!!! BTW does anybody know if the blackstar 500 leds can be used for both flowering and vegging? i bought the flowering models but i saw another model that specifies veg/cloning. Anyone know if i can still use the flowering lights for both stages?

    Those 2, 500w Blackstars will probably be all you need in your tent for now obviously more light is better when you have the money!

    Yes you can use the LED's for both veg and flower even the bloom ones, it's just like you can use a hps for veg and flower but with LED's XD Might be worth supplementing a bit of blue in veg with a CFL hung vertically or something similar (even a 90w clone/veg spectrum UFO).

    You'll still need an exhaust fan and filter, the fan might not have to be as powerful as if you had HPS and MH's but you'll still need one! As a previous post said the heat does build up gradually, my 90w UFO heats my room to 40*C over an 18 hour lights on period.

    I'm going down the same route as you with the 500w Blackstars I think but I'm a micro grower!
