what's wrong with this picture? / (clone purchased possibly while flowering)
Hello rollitup. I'm a 2nd-time CFL grower. This is my 1st time growing from clone. I purchased it from a shady dispensary. The strain is Grandaddy Purple. It had a tiny little furry bud on the very top when I bought it. (pinky tip-sized). I didn't really know if this was good or bad at the time.
It has been vegging at 18/6 for 21 days now under 4 CFLs. (2 daylight, 2 soft). there is 1 ventilation CPU fan also. Medium is Kellogg's organic potting mix.
My question is, judging from the pics, what am I doing wrong? (if anything) . I think the leaves are twisty from rotating the pot.
Some of the large fans died because I left it in strong sunlight for a day before potting it. Then the lights were too close and they continued dying.
1 more thing - I bought 2 of these clones. I gave 1 to my gf's mom and she's got it growing outdoors. I also got her a blueberry clone. the blueberry is looking great and getting tall. The GDP is looking about the same as mine (short but with more leaves - very bunched close together) Also it reaks of weed and has lots of pre-flower hairs. I'm worried I gave it to her too early in the year and it's just gonna flower right away.
This plant smells like bud too. IMG_20120424_212357.jpgIMG_20120424_212327.jpgIMG_20120424_212321.jpg
Hasn't really grown any height-wise. Just lots of very bunched leaves forming. Do I need to move the lights further away? I'm watering about every 3-4 days very lightly.
p.s. that device you see in the 1st photo is a homemade air ionizer. It keeps the smell down and provides more airflow. I'm gonna cut out a hole soon so it acts as an additional exhaust / intake blower.

wow... i dont know.. but its not good.

lol thats a fucked up looking plant.
You're using a CFL, so there's no such thing as too close.
about the ionizer... You don't mean ozone generator, do you? Like running air over a bulb creating ozone? Cause that will kill your plants.
Also, try not watering every 3-4 days just to water every 3-4 days. Water when the plant needs it. Meaning when the soils not wet anymore. The pot you have it in looks kinda big for that little guy. And dial back on the nutrients if you're using any.

Kinda does look like a flowering branch... I wouldn't buy clones there again...

nah it generates negative ions. There is a miniscule amount of ozone created but it's really negligable I've read. That stuff is bad for your lungs and I've had this thing running in my room for months on end. It was built from this kit. http://www.amazon.com/Images-SI-Inc-.../dp/B0002NRK3A anyhow I read that ions are good for plants. I cut a hole in the box last night so now it's pumping the ions out as purified exhaust.
I will try to start monitoring the soil moisture more. (doubt it'll help me at this point) I haven't given it any nutes either. Think they just made a shitty batch of clones. I'll let it keep growing until it is covered in bud or dies I guess. Thanks for your replies though.

looks like N def, also when u do buy clones and u suspect them of flowering ( maybe started mini flowering because clinic dosn't leave the clone lights on when they leave from work more the likely giving it a 12/12 lighting) you can force it to re veg with 20/4 lighting or even 24 hour lighting, also pick off the dead leaves wanna keep plants as clean as u can.

Honestly I wouldn't even trust that its real GDP.. Did they offer you proof of genetics? Dispensaries are sketchy... Most lie about their product. They will rename weed just because they have something they call that strain already in stock and if you bring them the real deal they will call it something else just so they have "more strains".

Nah they offered no proof of genetics. It was probably an illegal dispensary honestly. My only real cue that it's GDP is because of how dank smelling it was with just 1 tiny bud. It's a strong-smelling indica at any rate. Also they were selling alot of really purple gdp. ...who knows?
would 24/0 lighting be beneficial at all this late into the game?
temps are running fairly high. mid 80s if I had to guess. need more ventilation. I have no way of checking the humidity. There is no A/C in this room so it's just the ambient humidity of bay area, california.

if you can get ur temps around 75-78 you should be good.. 24 hour light would be best to reveg.. I have found that $2 thermometer with humitiy gauge works well enough. I have 3 of them and digitals and they seem to read around the same.
