Newbie questions regarding indoor growing and smell

I think alot will depend on the strain you are growing, do you know what strain you are growing and I'm sure a member might have some feedback from their experiences, you can also make home made carbon filters don't have the thread but there will be plenty of how to's around

but in general you're going to want an enclosure to use a filter right? the biggest concern i guess is a cost of a fan. I found a cheap grow tent on amazon that looks ideal for me, and I can make a cheap filter however I need something to push the air.
