Why is Led lighting so bad?

Hey well I was just wondering why led lights were so bad? I'm an electrician and we were putting up some new led lights. These things were outrageous they put out as much light as a 600w hps but only were 100w and uses just over an amp. Now these run around 1000 but power wise wouldn't it be super efficient? Ill get a picture up after work. These things seem like a really good choice you can get any light spectrum you want.

On the contrary, LED Lighting is not bad at all, once you have the correct spectrums your fine... the only reason people have problems with them is because they don't put out as many lumens as HID's but with pretty much 100% PAR (plants light absorbtion) they are pretty amazing.

Oh and people don't tend to like them either because they don't penetrate the canopy as much (just wait for the super bright 3w LED diodes to catch on and be affordable) but put them side by side with say 250w CFL, 250w HPS and 250w LED they'll pretty much yield the same and only have cost a fraction to run... (I find that LED bud is a bit more frosty too)

Oh so other then penetration they would be a good choice . But I mean if that's one if the only downsides you can have more of them seeing how they are cheaper power wise.

Whoever told you that does not have very much knowledge about LED's and prob should just keep thier mouth shut that be the case...they are wonderful yet expensive and yes you are right they do save much much more energy (they will pay for themselvs in the long run).

So then if I was going to do a pc grow for my first grow I could def use led's? Or should I just stick to cfl's

They are bad... Bad ass.

They're perfect for small (1-3 plant) stealth grows.

Read up on which spectrums are needed for veg v flower + percentge of spectrums, best diodes (1-2-3-5 w), dispersion angle...

LED is great accent lighting. just look at the cars at night.

i think the reason some people are giving led lighting bad reviews is that there are allot of companies putting them together with 3 watt diodes and saying they use 100 diodes so it is a 300 watt light but the actual output is only like 150 watt, so if i spend $600-$1000 dollars on a light and expect it to preform like it's 300 watts and it puts out no more than a $75 150 watt hps i would say its junk too you have to shop around and find a company that puts the actual output on them not just how many leds they have in them and claim that's how many watts it is.

Hmmm I'm def gonna look into some led lights for my stealth pc grow I want to start I have some time still to look into it. Seeing how I'm still working outta town for another 2 weeks I'm just getting excited and wanna start already!
