How to find a good outdoor grow spot

Ive been searching through the threads trying to get ideas on how to find a good location to grow. I live in texas and really dont know what to look for.

I'm no where near Texas but a good rule of thumb would to scout out locations with what may be little foot traffic. I grow indoors so I'm not much help. Just a thought :)

Obvious things first.
1. Is it going to get the required sunlight/shade during peak times in seasons summer/winter.
2. Is anybody going to be able to see/acess/smell the plant

How much sunlight? Like a big open field? Or will a wooded area with no underbrush work? Im just trying to gauge what i need. I dont want to have them very far away from me.

Well ideally the big open field would be better as it gets it's full blast of mother nature this way, but then saying it's the worst spot to hide it. Really what you want is to be hidden behind a nice tall shed / fence facing the sun rise. Or some isolated bush tracks. You really have to pan it out yourself as you know the area alot more then any of us.

Take into consideration animals / pests also, they don't pose the same threat as human contact but planting it near shit that's obviously going to host pests wouldn't be the smartest of things.

If you live with large open ares and dirt and scrubb and trees,,,,ive grown in the Western Australian bush,i camped about 4 kms away and grew 6 clones out,i received them in the 2 nd week of flower so had to find somewhere for 6-7 weeks.....i chose an area of scrub, brambles, horrible sharp ugly bushes, they where about a metre high and in an area the size of a couple of snooker tables bout 3 by 3 metres square, off the beaten track.i got scratched a bit but made a clearing in the middle of the area of scrub, dug a half metre hole, filled it with good soil and compost and put the clones in the middle...it was super hot,so they got a bit of shade from being a little lower in the ground and cos of the scrub around them, but still got plenty of suntoo.
I watered them in the evening,3 times a week, and fed em twice altogether....

I harvested them a week early cos i got a lift up north, dried them too quickly cos of the desert heat, but got absolutely munted by that weed,,its name was Kuranda Kush..or so i was told....
hope this helps...off beaten track....inside of ugly bushes....dig hole so there a bit lower for when they get bigger, helps keep moisture from watering if you have scrub around.....B

Sounds perfect for a West Australian bush grow, but i highly doubt the texan bushes would be anything like the west australian bushes where you could get lost just by walking 2 minutes into them.

you could think about digging a little so there under ground level slightly..I didnt even notice your location ChoofyN.I lived in Fremantle for 7 years and spent about 3 mnths in Kununurra, doing shitty back pack work there,i loved it though, thats were i nurtured my clones........dunsborough and Margs were great places too.

How's thai for growing out doors i heard the shit grows every where there. No good hydros but..

To the OP, digging a hole deeper thank ground level around some bushes seems the way to go.

Its super illegal, but you can usually pay bribes and its cool..
Most of the weed comes from Laos, north of Thailand, its very good, its 100% Sativa cos its landrace in Laos....cheap and good.......I grow a bit of Indica cos i dont drink so i like it at night for sleep.i grow that mostly, because were 12/12 all yr round everything just flowers instantly, good for cloning stretchy staivas...
i have an a roof garden with some jack here and white rhino seedlings, some mature AMS greenhouse,,,and a brilliant world of seeds Wild Thai Sativa,,very nice.
