flower question

Noob question. When it comes to flowering, is it 8 weeks from when I change photosynthesis, or when I see the first signs of female flowers? I know different seeds call for different flowering times. The seeds I'm growing say 8 weeks.

soon as you turnd the lights to 12/12 then the flowering cycle has begun, so if its an 8 week strain its probably done man.

I have found those labels are for perfect growing conditions. The way to know if'n they are done is the trichomes some say when half are amber. I harvest when all are milky though it depends on what kind of high you want. The more amber the more couchlocked you will get. Hope that helped.

I do not agree with this at all.

All breeders are in this business for 1 thing. To make money.

They only say 8 weeks as a guide to when you start the harvest window. However these timings are usually produced using SOG or SCROG with excellent environmental control, including Co2 supplementation.

I always allow 2 more weeks than the breeder recommends.

Anyone who is chopping their plants according to breeders flowering times is more than likely chopping too early.

Yup, definitely. It's the same with the autoflower strains too, just a heads up. They say "65 days to harvest", but that's only in absolutely ideal conditions. It's typically more like 75-85 days.

These folks are right most breeders state a optimum flowertime for their plants. The flower times listed would usually be from when they actually start to flower and not at the flip. Why? would you add the two weeks or so of stretch to their flower-times? I can't imagine though people cutting their plants just because an internet ad told them they were done. Plant some veggies from a packet and tell me if those veggies are done at the days stated? Hardly ever, so would you cut that green tomato? or wait until it is ripe no matter the days?
Listen to your plant and not someone else's time frame.
Good Luck
