I am posting these piks in relation to an email I received asking for a cheapass setup using flourescents. I know I have these posted elsewhere, but I can't u/load piks in a private reply (or can I?) here is a setup for about $100. It includes 2 flourescent light fixtures, 2 extension cords( 1 was too short!), 1 light timer. The 1x2's that the jugs are on, I found stashed in a back corner of my basement. they are to keep the plants off my cold (unheated) basement floor. and it keeps the drain holes (I drilled 4 holes in each jug bottom) clear, too. Add another $10 for my fertz, and in about 1-2 weeks add another $20 for 2 more fixtures (just in case I need them for flowering). Extras will bring that amount up to about $100 total. I am not saying this is an ideal setup, not by any means, but it IS cheap. But my veg and flower times are longer due to using flouros all the way thru. But there is no heat build-up to get rid of. I am also using a dehumidifer with its exhaust channelled thru a standard box fan ($10) onto the plants. so they are kept warm, dry and have a steady flow of air across them 24/7. The dehumidifier runs constant as does the fan. My babies are in an unused closet so i have a sheet I can tack across the doorway to keep in warmth should the night get really cold. I also use a cheap co2 setup consisting of 4 cups sugar with 6 envelopes of active dry yeast (from local shopping mart) in a [cut top off of] bottle with water and this mixture. It'll be good for about 3-4 weeks and cost pennies. I'm finding out 1 bottle will supply about 8-10 jugged plants with co2 for about 3 weeks I add either sugar or more yeast occasionally if it looks like it needs it (you will notice a lack of bubbles/foam). i got practically the same setup and the plants are looking great i just started flowering mine today...... let me know how yours come out

It's great to know there are other with the same money (or lack therof) situation as me, and are using flouros I'm on day 2 of flowering and was pondering topping now for the last time. I've topped about half of them twice already for extra bushiness considering they're kind of stretched out. Highest one is now 15". we should be harvesting close to each other, than. I'll keep posting piks on my kiddies developement...and hey, it's always 4:20 somewhere

yeah my plants look really healthy and i dont think i could put a HPS or MH in my closet due to heating issues so flouros seem to be the best way for me... Im also on day 2 of flowering....what strains are you growing

hah! I'm growing from baggie seeds that were donated to me by a friend here in the US. Sure wish I knew exactly what i had! I know I have 2 almost pure Indica plants. they grow like a willow tree. all sorts of offshoots where the flowers are starting to grow from. and I only topped each once. but as to strains? I won't know till later (and even then, they're prob. just hybrids) but I don't have the experience to tell, I'll post pike later on and ask, maybe someone would recognize them.

i use fluorescent for vegging
and it works great
i have 3 fluos tube
and i use all the lenght of it normally when i have full plants under it and have no more veg place
then im rdy to put them in tha flowering stage under my 600 watt hps
dont fuck with fluos to flower
